Climb Every Mountain--Capricorn Sun

Someone with a Capricorn Ascendant seems fated to write about the Capricorn Sun which ushers in the Winter Solstice (Northern Hemisphere). Capricorn is one of the signs that has garnered a bad rap, mainly because Capricorn Sun natives are seen as too sober, too ambitious, and too realistic. They're the ones most likely to tell a Pisces or Sagittarius person to lift themselves up by their own bootstrap.

With Capricorn, and the ruling planet Saturn, we hear the myth of the self-made man or woman. In the French movie, The Green Ray by Eric Rohmer, we meet the character Delphine, a Capricorn who suffers from a broken heart and faces the challenge of taking a solo vacation or as the French say it, holiday. A colleague reads her horoscope which says something about the character thinking that she has to go it alone. Capricorn shows up as the rugged individual, the executive who climbed his or her way to the top and not without collateral damage. But Capricorn is also the public servant, perhaps a Christian pastor such as Martin Luther King, Jr. who champions the underdog.

I've met people who feel that Capricorn lacks a sense of humor, but this isn't the case. It's just that the Capricorn sense of humor is either goofy or super dry on the rocks. Capricorns possess a self-effacing sense of humor such as Diane Keaton and the characters she plays or Julia Louise-Dreyfus and her Seinfeld character Elaine, who is a solid embodiment of the Capricorn woman. In fact, you will find many comedic actors with a Capricorn Sun, not to mention musicians that include, David Bowie, and Michael Stipe (R.E.M.). Believe it or not, the fanciful Italian film director Federico Fellini was also a Capricorn married to a Pisces actress.

On the dark side, Capricorns can come off as aloof and cold or overbearing and manipulative as they climb their way up the ladder of success. Capricorn parents could fall into the trap of overworking and not spending enough time in the home with family. Out of all the 12 Zodiac Signs, Capricorn is the most career-driven which is hammered across with the 10th House traditionally representing the breadwinner, career, and public image. And Saturn brings in a life of hard knocks, late-bloomers, delayed satisfaction, and a need for patience. Capricorn also has a weakness for falling into depression or come across as gloomy because they see the glass as half-empty. They also tend to wear a lot of black, though a less sexy black than the garb of Scorpio individuals.

On the lighter side, Capricorns are dependable, loyal, practical, and stable (if they don't have a lot of water or air elements in their charts). Many of them have exceptional business and leadership skills and they enjoy launching projects and businesses (though follow-through might lack due to the Cardinal quality of the sign). As Capricorns age they look younger and are often greeted with, "You don't look 50," (or whatever their age is). They develop wisdom from their challenges and from that wisdom make awesome life coaches and motivational speakers, especially if they have a Sagittarius Moon or Ascendant or prominent Jupiter or Sun in their chart. Capricorn's recipe for success is hard work and patience, then waiting for the right moment to ascend.

The reason so many of us have become familiar with Capricorn is that Pluto has a long transit in this sign and has squared Uranus in Aries since 2011. When Pluto arrived in Capricorn we saw an economic crisis revolving around banks, mortgage companies, and the stock market (2008) which led to a painful recession which affected mainly people with planets in early degrees of Capricorn, Cancer, Aries, and Libra. I'm not a mundane astrologer but planets in Capricorn or Cancer have had a significant effect on the economy. For instance, the Great Depression happened when Pluto transited in Cancer. My parents were born in that era and both have Cardinal Suns. (BTW, Saturn will enter his own sign in 2017).

So Capricorn, what can we expect for you in 2016? I'm thinking that you'll finally get some breathing space with the North Node having ended its stay in Libra last November and Uranus finally moving ahead after March so we don't see those exact or tight squares with Pluto any longer. However, Jupiter moves into Libra in September and will challenge Pluto in Capricorn, even if it's a Jupiter transit. What this suggests is that you'll face the challenge of finding greater balance in your lives. And we have a Lunar Eclipse in Libra on March 23 to stay alert.

The year starts of crunchy for Capricorns with Mercury in Capricorn turning retrograde on January 5 and turning direct again on the 25th. When any planet transits in Capricorn it visits the dark underworld of Pluto also transiting in this sign. This means that new or full moons in Capricorn or Cancer have a powerful effect, especially when they oppose or conjunct Pluto and then square Uranus in Aries. However, Capricorns with their sun, moon or ascendant after 15 or 16 degrees won't experience the tighter squares with Uranus that other Capricorns have done. If you want to hear some horror stories involving Pluto just ask the Capricorns with their sun, moon, or Ascendant between 0 and 15 degrees.

Usually, I give a list of careers for Capricorn, but this sign has a wide range to choose from. I've known Capricorns involved with religion, spirituality, fine and performing arts, the medicine field, bodywork, yoga (they excel at this), athletics, business leaders, community leaders, and civil rights activists. There isn't any field this sign won't conquer. But a career climb is usually slow and steady thanks to Saturn's influence.

Famous Capricorns include, Cary Grant, David Bowie, Julia Louise-Dreyfus, Federico Fellini, Martin Luther King, Jr. Richard Nixon, Marlene Dietrich, Michael Stipe, and Diane Keaton, to name a handful.

Last, but not least I want to give a shout out to the folks born between 1988-90 when Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune transited in Capricorn, sometimes as a Triple Conjunction. Some of these folks have up to 6 planets in Capricorn depending on the time of year they were born. If we require a solid example of Capricorn energy, this group embodies it and are approaching their first Saturn Return, which will be interesting as Astrologer Donna Cunningham has described it. Check out her writings on this group because she has carefully researched it.

Here's wishing you a happy birthday, Solstice, and New Year, Capricorn. And I would love to give you a personal reading since each Capricorn is unique. Sign up on the contact form on this blog, but read the services tabs first. Get to know yourself through a Natal Chart or Solar Return reading.

Astrological Memoir--Chiron Return Brings Me to My Knees

If I thought I would not survive the Pluto in Capricorn transit to my nodes, Ascendant and Sun/Mercury, the super asteroid Chiron has taken me deeper into my subconscious--places where I never hoped to revisit...

There are wise ones who believe that we came here to this planet or this physical realm to live out our worst fears so that we would transmute them. I wonder some times. I have endured one outer planet transit after another since around the age of 18 or 19. The planets have relentlessly visited my Mutable T-Cross, or gone to battle with natal Neptune, Jupiter, Sun/Mercury or Ascendant. While I feared the Pluto and Uranus transit, felt nervous about Neptune visiting my Mutable T-Cross, not to mention old Saturn in Sagittarius, I wasn't expecting Chiron, not even a planet, to hit me this hard.

While it sounds like I'm complaining, I'm actually amazed at the powerful healing that is taking place in my life at this time. My Chiron Return ends February 2016 after Chiron leaves 18 degrees Pisces. But during this asteroid return to Pisces 18 degrees, I lost my home (twice), have not been able to attract business as an astrologer and coach, and I've grappled with physical illnesses, only to find that it's all related to chronic anxiety that finds it's roots in Post Traumatic Stress Disorder from my childhood experiences.

Now, I'm happy to have found the roots to the miseries in my life I have suffered. And I'm thrilled to have found spiritual teacher and energy transformer John Newton who does Ancestral DNA clearings and the Universe blessed me with a wonderful therapist too. But this work is not for the feint of heart, even if it brings me liberation from a painful past. Chiron teaches us to accept what we can't change through radical forgiveness of ourselves and others.  Meaning, we can't change the stories of our lives, but we can change our perception in regard to those stories and we can detach ultimately from the emotional charges, which I'm in the process of doing.

Chiron ignites our inner wisdom through its transits, and especially through a Chiron Return which takes place around age 50 to 52. And for those of us with our sun, moon, or Ascendant in a Cardinal Sign, and born in the 1960s, there is a good chance that the Chiron Return will follow a Pluto transit. If you were born in the 1960s with numerous planets in Mutable Signs (Sagittarius, Pisces, Gemini and Virgo), you will also experience powerful Neptune and Saturn transits at this time which cause you to break through restrictions caused by memories and patterns in the subconscious.

So what a blessings is that Chiron forces me to dig through garbage in my subconscious so I can toss it out. It symbolizes finding the key to the attic where we have stored stuff we no longer have use for. Or maybe it's similar to cleaning out the garage and by doing so many memories attached to our possessions surface. Some of the memories are painful while others bring tears of joy. The force behind a Chiron Return brings us to our knees in surrender to the unknown. Just like Pluto, we face a Dark Night of the Soul, but less intense.  Allow your tears to bring release.

Winter Solstice Chart--Hail Mother Earth!

I didn't have plans to write about the Solstice transits, but then I experienced a nibble about the possibility of a Grand Earth Trine so I'm unveiling this incredible chart here. I love when I can share flowing energy with you since most of what I've shared since launching Whole Astrology, has been a bit crunchy.

The first thing I want to bring you attention to is the Grand Earth Trine with the Sun at 0 degrees Capricorn (plus Mercury and Pluto in Capricorn) ushering in the Solstice, the Taurus Moon, and Jupiter in Virgo. Now the degrees are wide between the planets but having a Grand Earth Trine on the Solstice is auspicious.

We feel grounded and prosperous going into the next cycle which lasts until either the Solstice in June or the Solstice for next December, however you wish to read it.

The next thing I draw your attention to is a Mystical Rectangle between Jupiter/North Node in Virgo, the Taurus Moon, Chiron in Pisces and Venus in Scorpio. Now you have Earth and Water elements working closely together which brings compassion, emotions, and stable energies of the Earth element into play. I don't know about you, but I went hunting for Solstice songs (of the pagan variety) on YouTube. And I've noticed the energies in the natural world coming alive now too.

With the holidays on the way, we're all feeling merry and wanting to manifest in the material realm. We want to receive and give gifts now, but maybe even spiritual gifts. However, the world is not without strife and again we have the tale of two astrological experiences here since Mercury/Pluto, Uranus, and Mars are locked into a Cardinal T-Cross, which we'll notice even more around the Cancer Full Moon on Christmas Day. Also the moon opposes Venus and Chiron and Jupiter go to battle too. How do we serve others when we have our own wounds to heal?

Still let's focus on that Grand Earth Trine. Happy Solstice everyone. May this be a fruitful and transformative time for you.

One Last Uranus-Pluto Play for Cardinals--January 2016 Forecast

Wikipedia Uranus
The good news is that none of the Cardinal Signs beyond 15 degrees in their respective signs will experience an exact Uranus-Pluto square or the bombastic Cardinal eclipses from past years. However, January seems like a crunchy month for Cardinal Signs and here's why.

Mercury turns retrograde one degree Aquarius on January 5 and returns to Capricorn where it continues its backward transit until it reaches 15 degrees on January 25. So this especially brings a time-out experience for Capricorn, Cancer, Aries and Libra. Meanwhile, the Capricorn planet, Saturn pulls up into a wide square with Chiron which has many of us questioning our religious and spiritual beliefs or feeling like we lack the education to move forward in life. However, Pluto in Capricorn forms a sextile with Chiron throughout the month offering us an opportunity for rebirth and new growth. And Jupiter retrogrades in Virgo trining with Pluto for most of the month.

This tells me that transformation and big life changes are on for both Mutable and Cardinal Sign suns, moons, and Rising Signs. While we won't see an exact square with Uranus and Pluto, they do move into a one degree orb of each other with a pile up of faster moving planets in Capricorn. This gives Pluto (who is currently transiting direct) much more power and gravity. Remember that Pluto has two faces. The first one is of oppressive authority figures and the second one brings transformation through a death and rebirth process. Many of you Cardinals (if not all of you) with your sun, Ascendant, moon or North Node in a Cardinal Sign between 0 and 14 degrees know the losses and life reversals I'm talking about.

On January 9, we experience the Capricorn New Moon at 19 degrees. The moon teams up with Pluto and some astrologers are pulling in Mercury at 29 degrees Capricorn (I'm not) and squares Uranus. What this suggests is that the moon brings up emotions, mainly fear around security issues and children. Do we feel safe? Do we have a place to call home? What are the grassroots warriors doing about the homelessness situation in the US and abroad? Are we getting enough to eat? Look in your chart where Uranus and Pluto transit. Are either of the planets in your house of health, house of work, or house of home and family? This is where the drama plays out.

Mercury in Capricorn retrograde asks us to review our life situation thus far. Are we working at the right career for us? What structures are we building or dismantling in our lives? What message are we sending out to the world about commitment, responsibility and career goals? We will look at messaging around fathering or healing father issues, especially with the trine with Jupiter in Virgo and sextile with Chiron in Pisces. What spiritual solutions might we apply to healing those issues?

Venus conjuncts Saturn starting on the 5th with a 5 degree orb and then she tightens the conjunction to exact on the day of the Capricorn New Moon so this also brings up father and authority issues. It could also bring up issues around religion and women's roles within religious institutions or academic institutions or women lawyers and judges. Might we elect more women judges at this time? Certainly, this transit has us looking at women's rights and women in leadership positions. Hilary Clinton could see a boon to her presidential candidacy, especially if she shares a common ideology with the masses.

By the 17th, Venus squares Jupiter in Virgo and the North Node. Now we're looking at the rights of women in subservient positions or the way women take on leadership roles. We could hear from women from nations that are ruled by Virgo or Sagittarius such as Finland which is ruled by Sagittarius and this country is also kinder to women than most nations. Another interesting Venus transit occurs at the beginning of January when Venus squares Neptune and here we're caught up in the glamorous side of women--possibly something to do with body image, eating disorders, and women sitting on pedestals for public consumption. But are we seeing a clear picture?

If we want to venture into the realm of asteroids (which do color the rays of the planets through aspects), Pallas joins up with Pluto in Capricorn during the first week of January. This brings feminine wisdom to the equation and women also take on a more masculine role as thinkers and planners since Pallas is represented by the Greek goddess Athena which later became the Roman goddess Pallas. It contains the energy of the wise woman who will go to battle for justice. And here she's also squaring Uranus in Aries (very interesting). We're looking more at battles of the intellect.

Vesta (who contains the energies of the Vestal Virgins) hooks up with Uranus in Aries towards the end of the month. To give you an idea of what this suggests, the Vestal Virgins were from the Patrician or aristocratic ancient Greek families. They served as communal virgin-priestesses that kept the communal fires burning and performed rituals to keep their city healthy and harmonious. They served from around age 13 to 30 or so when they could finally marry and have a family. If a vestal virgin messed up in her duties she was severely punished.

This brings up the idea of service. How are each of us serving our family, our community and the greater planet? With Vesta in Aries, we might take up a cause or two at this time to bring justice to the common person. One issue in the US is finding affordable homes for millions of people who are either on the street, in a shelter or in transitional housing situations. We can't keep the home fires burning if we don't have a home.

When the sun moves into Aquarius on January 20, we notice things lightening up. Now, we're engaged with futuristic solutions such as new technology for solar and wind power, unusual forms of transportation, space travel and quirky  diets based on pseudo science. Iconoclastic people make the news headlines and we're all feeling a bit rebellious or teaming up with grassroots mentality. Suddenly, US presidential candidate Bernie Sanders seems practical to people who had not considered him before and socialism loses it's dirty word status in the United States. We want solutions to problems and we want those now.

Finally, let's look at the Leo Full Moon which is at 4 degrees on January 23. The moon has a wide square with Juno and Mars then later forms trines with Saturn, Venus, and Uranus. We could even bring in a Grand Fire Trine (though a wide one) for this full moon, and lasso in Vesta in Aries. I actually see this moon as flowing and we feel invigorated, creative, and sparkling in the areas of our charts ruled by Leo, Aries, and Sagittarius. The wide square with Mars and Juno could have us dealing with our own pent up anger (now coming out) or the pent up anger or frustration of others, especially children. But get everyone involved in creative projects where they express themselves and we curb most of this anger or find a healthy outlet for it. Here's hoping.

So the good news for Cardinals is that the toughest transits are behind us. Those of you with your main planets around 15 degrees to 16 degrees will feel the Uranus-Pluto square and the Capricorn New Moon the most intensely. Fortunately, Uranus is going to pull far ahead and out of a square with Pluto in months and years ahead. Those of you with your sun, moon, or Ascendant at later degrees (after 20 degrees especially) will still experience transformation, but without the horrendous losses those of us with our moon, sun or Ascendant in earlier degrees experienced. In other words, you won't feel slammed by the planets, but you still experience liberation from self-repression as you make necessary life changes.

For the rest of you, the planetary energies of January ask us to sit back and reassess situations in our life and on the planet before moving forward. Mercury is retrograde for three weeks and this gives us plenty of time to return to the drawing board, re-think, edit, and re-work situations and projects. It's not a good time to launch anything new, sign contracts, or buy computers, cars, or homes. But if you must, read the fine print more than one time and get legal counsel. Otherwise, wait until after January 25 to launch or move forward.

Pisces, Gemini, Sagittarius & Virgo--2016 Special Forecast

While I didn't have time to make a forecast for every Zodiac Sign, I concentrated on the Mutable Signs. If time allows, I will make a video for Cardinal Signs and Fixed Signs, though the biggest transit for the Fix Signs (Taurus, Scorpio, Leo and Aquarius) in 2016 is when Mars transits in Scorpio January 4 through March 29 and then later Mars retrograde in Scorpio May 28 through June 28 and then direct again from June 29 through August 2 when Mars transits back into Sagittarius.

Hold Your Horses--When the Sun Transits in Sagittarius

Oh, Sagittarius, I almost forgot to write a post for you. Could it be that Saturn in your sign limited my sight of the satyr or could it be that everything is exaggerated when the sun transits in your sign? And yet, Sagittarius faces challenges these days with Neptune, Chiron, North Node and Jupiter (your ruling planet) squaring and opposing you. What's up with that?

But first, let's take a look at the sign of Sagittarius and individuals with this sign. I once had a Sagittarius boyfriend who saw me as an exotic foreigner. The relationship worked well when he was corresponding a few states away from me. However, after we moved in together the whole situation unraveled. Linda Goodman once wrote about relationships between Cancer and Sagittarius in her book, Love Signs (which some of you will remember because it was a popular book back in its day), and she didn't predict long-term partnerships for this odd coupling. Really, who would think of putting horses and crabs together except in the situation of the horseshoe crab?

And most of the Sag people I have known disappeared as quickly as they appeared in my life. Many Sag people end up in bands and the traveling suits them, especially traveling abroad. Others worked in the communications field or for a non-profit that matched their idealism (and I have never known a Sagittarius who didn't blow a horn for a idealistic pursuit or philosophy). But with Sagittarius you had better be riding the same horse, or you will probably end up in battle over who's opinions posing as facts are correct.

On the other hand, these freedom-seekers bring a breath of fresh air to the room. They wax on about their many adventures and often drop humor into the equation. They enjoy satire and off-the-wall comedy such as Monty Python. If you toss in a foreign accent or neigh like a horse, you might just garner a friend for life, but through correspondence as he or she jet-sets around the globe sending you short dispatches or a postcard from an exotic place.

I once met a Sagittarius grad student and teacher who lived in the same apartment building. He was always off to somewhere and rode his bike most places. One day he asked me my sun sign and I told him it was Cancer and he laughed at me and said, "I'm sorry." So I asked him what he meant by that and he said that Cancers were too clingy and dare I say it, "boring." Well, maybe that's because water sign people (though mysterious to some folks) are what they are and don't exaggerate about themselves the way Sagittarius, ruled by Jupiter does.

In addition, unless you're on the same political or religious page don't engage in a conversation on these topics with a Sagittarius or the horse will trod upon you. Now, some signs such as Leo or Aries can handle the banter, but Water Signs could end up in tears because they are subjective signs that take other people's comments too personally. The thing about Sagittarius is even if they do argue with you they don't take it personally. They actually can walk away and forget about it, unless they have Mercury, moon, or their Ascendant in Scorpio, and then it's another story.

I've never known anyone with a personal planet in Sagittarius that doesn't enjoy travel and travels as often as finances will allow. I would bet that those laptop entrepreneur guys that appear on YouTube have prominent Sagittarius in their charts as do travel guides, flight attendants, commercial pilots, travel journalist and diplomats (although that falls under Libra too).

Health concerns for Sagittarius include sports and recreation injuries, contagious diseases they pick up during their travels (watch out for hepatitis because Sagittarius rules the liver), liver diseases, and weight issues especially around the thighs and buttocks (and this includes Sagittarius Rising, prominent Jupiter in the chart, and Sagittarius moon). Sagittarius is prone to addictions too, mainly to gambling, drinking and food. Sagittarius once shared its ruling planet Jupiter with Pisces (prior to the discovery of Neptune).

Areas Sagittarius has work include curbing over exaggeration, insensitive or sarcastic remarks that hurt others, insensitivity in general since they're not in touch with their feelings and emotions (leave that to the Water Signs), pie-in-the-sky idealism, hyperbole, lack of integrity in some cases (think used car salesman that sells you a lemon), forcing religion on others, stubbornly promoting their political beliefs and pomposity. They can blow hot air which turns other people off and in that case are difficult to trust.

On the other hand, these guys and gals know how to have fun and get others to lighten up. They make excellent motivational coaches because they spout enthusiasm and encouragement for others. They have a raucous sense of humor, but not one that Virgo would likely enjoy. And sometimes we need a kick in the butt especially if we are too ingrained in political correctness and self-righteousness. Sagittarius people (or those with personal planets in Sagittarius) are blunt too and shoot from the hip like a cowboy on steroids. In fact, along with Taurus they are the cowboys or at least represent remnants of nomadic cultures or the Wild West obsession with horses.

But dearest Sagittarius, the planets are tossing you some hard balls at the moment. First, your planet, Jupiter and the North Node (transiting in fussy Virgo), tell you to stop spouting idealism and put your money where your mouth is or put some action behind your words. Prove that your philosophies hold water because Virgo has grown frustrated with your broken promises or you taking up too much space with ideas that don't go anywhere. Virgo tells you to polish your philanthropist side because you are the most generous of the Sun Signs and with all the money you make at your various endeavors, if you donate a portion of that to a cause that matches your philosophies, you can make the world a better place. The North Node in Virgo challenges you to serve in some way, even if its giving shelter to abandoned horses or protected the last mustangs in the American deserts who are doing their own battle with the US Government.

If that's not enough, Saturn has rolled into your sign, more like steamrolled and suddenly you must practice realism (what's that?). Now you're forced to put some real action behind your ideas and delve deeper into your religious practice. Coupled with Neptune and Chiron squaring your sun, your identity goes through an overhaul and life seems more surreal and humorous. What the blank is going on? You might poke fun at all the changes happening on the planet, but deep down, you're ready to launch into the next planetary adventure, even if you haven't yet come up with the right spiritual description for it.

In 2016, expect big changes to come your way Sagittarius. You could relocate to another country or be forced to head back to your home country due to immigration laws. You could either travel to another country only to find unrest or you could battle with unrest in your home country as you grapple with fundamentalist religious folks. You might join your Aquarius colleagues and fight for justice or you might decide to obtain a higher degree but find that the funding isn't there thanks to Saturn transiting in your sign. 2016 marks a getting back to the grindstone year for you. You might just have to reinvent the wheel which is the best metaphor that comes to mind.

But please don't lose your sense of humor and know that Saturn will move out of your sign mid-2017. And it's certainly not as rough as when Pluto transited in your sign from 1995 to 2008. In fact, if you made it through that crunchy time intact, then don't mind Saturn sobering you up a bit.

Famous people with prominent Sagittarius: Patti Smith (Sag AC), Kurt Vonnegut, Walt Disney, Kenneth Branagh, John F. Kerry, Joe DiMaggio, David Letterman, Jimi Hendrix, Billy Bragg, Michael Scott (The Waterboys), Oprah Winfrey (Sag Moon), and Andrew Wyeth.

Professions for Sagittarius include: Media (talk show host), comedy, improv acting, music, writing, radio, travel writing, travel photography, sports, philanthropy, politics, religion, and commercial pilots.

Sign up for a personal reading.  I recommend Solar Return charts for Sagittarius and I'll toss in a few crucial transits for 2016. Read the service tab first. I look forward to reading your chart and see what's up for you in 2016.

Whole Astrology Gift Guide by Zodiac Sign

St. Nick, Wikipedia
Do you have an Aries wife or Cancer child and you don't know what to give them for the holidays? Are you confused about the right food choices for each Zodiac Sign? Well, I'll do my best to provide you with a gift-giving list with each sign in mind.

Aries--Even adult Aries have a strong inner child and a sense of adventure. When it comes to Fire Signs, you might want to head over to your nearest REI or outdoor gear outfitter. Reds and warm colors work best for these folks, especially if they have red hair. As far as music, Aries prefers music that is robust and fiery. For instance if they enjoy classical music, then go with the Romantic composers. They also enjoy super spicy foods such as Thai and Mexican food. If you have a gourmet on your hands (it's possible since man chefs have Aries Sun), then supply them with spices and peppers in a gift basket. Don't forget to add a state-of-the-art knife.

For Aries children, gift them with adventure or magical novels. Drums, guitars, and sports gear also provide favorite gifts for Aries children.

Taurus--Engage the senses of the Taurus adult or child. Give gourmet food or make dinner for them and include potatoes and sauces. Give essential oils, massage oils, silky material, soft blankets, plush toys, gardening equipment, seeds, a bread maker, baking equipment, and artwork. House plants, folk art, ethnic jewelry, and a energy healing session are also excellent options. These folks prefer heavier and sweeter food choices.

Gemini--Give books, newspaper or other media subscriptions, board games, computer games, cameras, high tech devices, and clothing or backpacks with plenty of pockets. These folks love trivia and clothing in shades of blue. Buy them a bus ticket for short-distance travel and don't forget to include a journal so they can write down their observations. If it's brainy, they'll love it.

Cancer--I used to swear that I'm not a real Cancerian because I never saw myself as a homebody, but boy was I wrong. These folks are sentimental homebodies and if you give gifts that center around the home, especially the kitchen you can't go wrong. Include images of crabs, shells, and other sea imagery. These folks love cameras and photography, photo albums, frames, computer programs to work with photographs and don't forget to include a holiday card. Other options are baked goods or creamy foods. They appreciate kitchen gadgets and stylish aprons.

Leo--These folks love jewelry, especially gold jewelry, sunglasses (not cheap ones), clothing in the colors of the sun (orange, yellow, amber, gold), biographies of Hollywood celebrities, stylish hats, and anything that helps them stand out. Buy them a collection of Broadway tunes, or a ticket to a prestigious theatrical production coming to town. Buy them DVDs of their favorite movies or engage their imagination with art supplies or a musical instrument. Think thespian. Think spotlight. When it comes to food, don't scrimp. After all, you serving food to a king or queen, at least in their minds.

Virgo--Buy them clothing in gray, brown, or dark blue--the more somber, the better. Make sure that you're house is clean when you invite the Virgos for a holiday celebration. Ask if they have any food allergies or food intolerance ahead of time so that they don't end up with an upset stomach or a rash. Instead of buying them things, donate to a charity on their behalf or buy them time at a spiritual retreat center. They also enjoy self-help and spiritual books.

Libra--Buy these folks time at a spa, or mineral makeup. Buy them a year's worth of haircuts or clothing in lighter tones. Other gifts that would go well are silk scarfs, dishware, glassware, cookbooks, a stylish apron for hosting parties, items for the home especially if they are interior decorating or a ticket to a natural location where they can regroup. Take these folks to a concert or charity event and don't forget to enter their name in the silent auction.

Scorpio--Buy these folks anything that is deeply metaphysical. Many of them are into WICCA and the occult or a good mystery novel. Clothing in black, red, white or silver does the trick as do self-help books or a session with a past life regression therapist. They also enjoy books on psychology or by Joseph Campbell since they enjoy stories about transformation. Scorpio children enjoy books about insects, snakes, mysteries, and witch tales.

Sagittarius--Anything that brings laughter or allows them to travel abroad goes well with Sagittarius. Sporting and recreational equipment also goes well as does a sturdy backpack and new hiking boots. If you're going to gift a Sagittarius with a novel, non-fiction book, or movie, try something that combines adventure, with travel, and taking risks. Political humor, satires, or religious text also provides exceptional gifts for these folks.

Capricorn--Okay, so it's not all about making money for Capricorns, but books on finances and business hits the spot for some Capricorns. Others like self-help books, oracle cards, gardening equipment, seeds, a massage, plane or train tickets, cameras, computers (if they also have planets in Aquarius), dark clothing, books on religion, as well as, hiking boots and backpacks.

Aquarius--It's a bit of a challenge to buy a gift for a futuristic friend, colleague, or family member and the Aquarius' tastes is usually far out. Buy them a gift certificate for a tattoo parlor if that's their thing or a trendy and hip barber, or books on quantum physics or far out metaphysics. Since Aquarius rules architecture and astrology, get them books or movies on those topics. And if all that fails, donate to their favorite humanitarian cause in their name. As far as food goes, I have no idea what these folks eat. They enjoy experimental and electronic music or folk songs once sung by activists.

Pisces--I don't know any Pisces person who doesn't love shoes or could take better care of their feet. Give a gift that has anything to do with the feet or has Neptune themes attached to it. A beach vacation, a trip to a spa near the water, an aquarium (don't forget to buy the fish to go in it), a fish bowl, paintings or photographs of the sea, favorite music or movies provide wonderful gifts for the fish. Give them something sentimental from the heart or a self-help book (hint, hint). They love stories about saints and people who overcame the odds. Like Cancerians, Piscesans, root for the underdog. They also love anything to do with photography, cinema, music, or dance.

Inner Planets as Personal Assistants

Wikipedia Solar System

Have you ever thought of using the personal planets to assist you with mundane experiences? Normally, I focus on the outer planets and the transformation these planets launch in our lives and across the planet. As we follow the phases and signs of the moon to determine best times for activities, the sun, Mercury, Venus, and Mars also act as our personal assistants.

Let's begin with the moon since many day planners follow the sign and course of the moon as it transits through the Zodiac every 28 days. For instance, today with the Libra Moon, I had my hair cut. Libra represents beauty, fashion, and charm so I couldn't think of a better day to get my hair cut. Not only that, the moon is in the waning phase as it makes its way to the Sagittarius moon.

Speaking of the Sagittarius Moon, people want to party during this moon, drink too much, eat too much, gamble, or take risks that they regret later. On the other hand, the Sagittarius Moon gives us courage to take adventures, to travel to foreign countries, make friends with people from other cultures, and enroll in higher education. We want to attend lectures or documentaries then wax philosophy like French movie characters into the wee hours. When the Sagittarius Moon wanes we desire to graduate or complete an adventure, but when it wanes, we're just beginning an endeavor, hopefully.

The water sign moons leave us feeling emotional and moody so it's good to plan what could be considered a stressful situation after a water sign moon. But on the other hand, work that involves coloring emotions, reaching others through emotions arts or spiritual practices), or creativity or intuition, go well with both waning and waxing water sign moons.

Fire sign moons lend us confidence and courage to start new endeavors such as campaigns, to travel abroad, give public presentations, star in movies, launch products, and performances. Everyone seems charming during one of these moons or at the very least heroic.

Earth sign moons lend themselves to getting down to business either launching or selling a business depending on which phase the moon is in. They lend themselves to real estate deals, farming or gardening, or working with the earth in some way. They are prosperity and manifestation moons so be careful what you wish for, but they can also leave us feeling stuck or looking over our shoulder too often at our competition.

Air sign moons help us to detach and rationalize or analyze situations in our lives or facing the world in general. They are good moons for studying and researching, that is if we can only focus our minds. We innovate, invent, and engage in lighter conversations. The downside is that we seem too detached and smug during these air moons or we come across as too politically correct thus turning off the very people we hope to impress.

Water Sign moons ask us to go inward and observe our emotions and moods. Perhaps we require time to meditate or de-stress or clear our thoughts so that we can hear our inner voice, also known as intuition. Take a long, hot bath. Visit a beach or large body of water and practice self-care during the Water Sign moons.

For those of you who haven't worked with moon energies yet, we launch ideas or projects or intentions around the new moon, build upon it as the moon waxing into the full moon and then we end or complete projects around the full moon and move into stillness as the moon wanes until the dark moon.  And of course watch out for the void-of-course moons when anything we start leads unexpected results with the exception of the Pisces, Cancer, Taurus, and Sagittarius moons. As a personal assistant, think of the moon as your personal high priestess or psychic. She helps you tune into your inner guidance.

Even though the sun is considered a personal planet it spends 28 days in a single sign. And usually the most powerful time for us is during our Solar Return (birthday) and our weakest time is a month before our Solar Return when the moon is in the sign prior to our sun sign.

When we work with the sun we look at the themes and activities that go best with each of the Zodiac signs. For instance, a Leo Sun provides us with the space to shine our light upon the through our uniqueness and creativity. We all have Leo somewhere in our charts whether it's on the cusps of our 8th or 1st house and those are the areas that are highlighted when the sun transits in Leo each year.

If we want to take on an organization project and Virgo happens to fall in the Virgo 6th House in our charts, then when the sun transits in Virgo provides the best time for us to organize our daily routine, and make changes to our diet. It's a good time for scheduling medical appointments and even a time at the local spa. Then when the sun transits into Libra it's a good time to beautify our home and ourselves depending on where Libra falls in your natal chart.

The sun represents our core identity but some of us take on the characteristic of all 12 signs as the sun transits around the Zodiac wheel, this is especially true for the shape shifting water signs, and probably less true for the earth signs which are more solid and rigid so they resist change. People with Gemini Sun, Moon, or Ascendant also have that mercurial effect shape shifting through the signs. You might also notice when the sun moves through a particular sign, you meet a concentration of people of that sign.

So if you're launching a political campaign or auditioning for a movie, do it when the sun is in Leo for greatest effect. If you embark on a healing path do that when the moon is in a water sign for best results and so on. If you're looking for work do so when the sun transits in Capricorn or when the sun transits over your 10th House.

Ah, what do we do with the trickster Mercury? We all know about the Mercury retrograde which takes place for three weeks three times a year, except for 2016, when Mercury turns retrograde 4 times. When Mercury moves forward it's time to hone our communication skills, start communication projects, travel, (and the sign Mercury transits will tell us what type of travel works best for that time period), write new material, give speeches, buy computers or other communication technology, buy a new car or machinery.

But when Mercury turns retrograde it's time to move backwards also. It's a good time to edit, proofread, reassess, reunite, reinvent, fix software glitches cause by the last retrograde, practice clear communication, meditate, take a vacation close to home, retreat, recycle and do anything that begins with "re" in front of it, even read between the fine lines. But don't sign any contracts or leases, start a new job, travel by plane or train, buy a new car, buy a new computer or launch any new projects. It's a bad time to launch an ad campaign unless it's reworking or revisiting an older one.

Mercury as your personal assistant helps you make travel plans, correspond with business and personal contacts, write books, schedule events, plan events, get organized, change your daily routine, and launch communication projects. It bodes well for pitching articles to editors and then following through, especially when Mercury transits in either Gemini or Virgo.

The sign Mercury transits in colors the moods of this sign, but it's not emotional moods like the moon signs. Mercury is detached and a trickster. You don't always see what you get and you might be reading another page of the book than the person you're communicating with when Mercury retrogrades.  Since Mercury rules the brain, stay mindful by meditating each day and keeping track of where that little devil is transiting. That will give you the upper hand in the realm of communication. If you work in the communication field or software industry, Mercury is your guide.

This feminine planet shows us what we value. And even though we each have our individual values based on our natal Venus in our charts, when Venus transits through each sign, we value the themes of that sign on a global scale So when Venus transits in Leo we might spend more time valuing Hollywood or taking the stage. We might find ourselves bingeing on Ted Talks videos and that sort of thing. When Venus transits in either Libra or Taurus our quest is for beauty.

When Venus transits in the sign of our sun or Ascendant, it's a good time to revamp the wardrobe, get our hair done, get waxed, or spend a day at the spa. It's also a good time to spend in nature or creating art. We need to look at the places our lives our out of balance and restore balance either through diet, giving up a bad habit or balancing the books.

But Venus can also represent other types of values such as do we value a home, a family, a career, or our freedom so we can roam the world? If Venus is in Scorpio, we value the topics of death, rebirth, reincarnation, sex and sexuality, psychology, other people's money and so on. When Venus transits in Gemini, we value books, knowledge as well as, trivia and talk show hosts.

Those of you with a strong Venus in your chart, can use this personal assistant to create art, garden, travel to beauty spots in the world, beautify yourself or others, interior decorate for yourself or a client and so on. But we can all use Venus as our personal assistant in making ourselves appear more charming, more fair, and more balanced. Body workers and beauticians; bakers and interior design experts would do well to take Venus on board as your personal assistant.

Poor Mars has garnered such a bad reputation as a malefic or a bad boy planet. Yet, without this planetary personal assistant we wouldn't be able to get up each morning, drive or even take the bus to work or get anything done. Mars gets us moving whether that's to the bus stop or on a bike path or to the gym where we work those muscles. Mars brings us ambition, inspiration, and gets us going full steam ahead.

Mars can help us with the task of choosing a new car to purchase or to start an exercise routine. He acts as our powerful personal coach--work those muscles until they burn, baby. Mars is our personal trainer, our motivator, but this planet can also lead us down a road of pent up anger if Saturn and restrictions are involved. We must temper Mars with other personal planets such as the moon which reminds us to practice compassion or Mercury which ask Mars to communicate clearly and use words wisely. Look up the themes of each sign as Mars transits through them (usually 6 per year and I believe Mars goes retrograde every two years).

When Mars turns retrograde it's time to put on the brakes and take a breather. Rest our muscles and maybe even sell the car and get a bicycle. It's also a time to mend any fences we broke during a particularly fierce Mars transit or if Mars grappled with Uranus in Aries and Pluto in Capricorn as it will do this December when Mars transits in Libra.

I hope my post is helpful. I meant for it to provide information and entertainment. But I'm not joking when I treat the personal planets as personal assistants because they really can assist us with projects, with relationships, and other endeavors as they transit through the Zodiac. You just need to know where to look in our chart and in the sky for best results.

Whole Astrology 2016 Forecast

Move over Pluto and Uranus. Neptune and Saturn take the spotlight in 2016.

If you have a Mutable Sign sun, moon or Ascendant, you will either feel liberated or challenged, depending on where you are on your spiritual path, in 2016. If you have a Cardinal Sign sun, moon, or Ascendant (from 15 to 24 degrees) you’ll experience tension between Pluto and Uranus, particularly during January, February, and then towards the end of 2016.

However, the planetary fireworks for 2016 revolve mainly around Neptune and Chiron in Pisces, Saturn in Sagittarius (newer energy for us to deal with), Jupiter and the North Node in Virgo. Now, I’ve already covered these oppositions and squares in previous posts, so I’ll just give you some dates to watch out for if you’re Virgo, Gemini, Pisces, or Sagittarius because you’ll all feel these energies a bit differently given the natures of your signs.

In addition, 3 of the 4 eclipses for the year (2 sets of lunar and solar eclipses) land in Mutable Signs (Pisces and Virgo) and on March 23, we experience a Lunar Eclipse at 3 degrees Libra which fortunately won’t pull into a T-Cross with Uranus and Pluto. However, we experience double-whammies with the moon when it transits in Sagittarius joining up with Saturn and then right after transits in Capricorn joining up with Pluto.

Now, normally a Sagittarius moon represents expansion, travel, and getting together with others to wax our philosophies or idealism, but when Saturn is also in Sagittarius, we encounter emotional situations revolving around immigration, restrictions on education, restrictions on travel, fundamentalists spouting off idealism and curtailing other people’s liberties and heavy-handed laws all the way around.

Then when the moon arrives in Capricorn and then joins up with Pluto in the 15 to 17 degree range, we again have to deal with authority and reclaiming our power through a rebirth process, usually on a global scale, unless you also have planets in Capricorn, Libra, Aries, or Cancer in the 15 to 17 degree range, then it feels doubly personal.

If you’re heavy with Mutable planets in your Natal chart, and you have planets around 18 degrees, the Solar Eclipse on March 8th brings big changes to your life, depending on where it falls in your chart. The moon and sun in Pisces oppose Jupiter in Virgo and square Saturn in Sagittarius thus a Mutable T-Cross. If we pull in Chiron at 21 degrees Pisces, the soup gets even thicker. This means that problems you face now in your personal life have roots in childhood issues, whatever that is for you. But now the planets force you to deal with those issues, either through therapy or through taking spiritual workshops.

Perhaps you pick up a self-help book. What I’m picking up revolves around issues of self-worth and taking back your power that leads to getting un-stuck. That’s what eclipses normally do for us anyway, but now the eclipse falls in a Mutable Sign so once we release the block damming the flow, our lives swiftly move forward. But for those of you who don’t take well to change, will find this painful.

On September 1 we experience another Solar Eclipse but this time at 9 degrees Virgo that opposes Neptune, and squares Mars conjunct Saturn in Sagittarius. Well, anytime we bring Mars into the equation we can expect fiery tempers to blow or since this happens on a new moon, Mars could launch us into a new life direction because Mars also brings us drive and energy and when it’s connected to Saturn we can get a lot done, provided that we ground ourselves since Sagittarius lends itself to pie-in-the-sky thinking. Saturn champions realism.

The final Lunar Eclipse at 24 degrees Pisces/Virgo occurs on September 16 and it will pull in Chiron. However, this is the least challenging of 2016’s eclipses since Jupiter has transited into Libra, bringing a challenger to Uranus in Aries (eventually) and Pluto in Capricorn. And Saturn travels back to 10 degrees Sagittarius putting this planet out of range of another Mutable T-Cross, thankfully.
September is still going to feel like a wobbly month since 4 planets are retrograde including Mercury (which by the way, goes retrograde 4 times in 2016).

Personally, I would slow down in September and take stock of achievements and issues from previous months. Take the month to retreat, or go on vacation even with the Mercury retrograde. For many of you it’s going to feel like catching up on life circumstances after a whirlwind. Or you might decide to completely change directions. It’s a great time to re-do projects, reassess, edit, and revisit old situations from a new perspective.

Some other big aspects to gaze at include a long retrograde for Mars in Sagittarius and Scorpio which begins on April 17 and last until June 28, and leaving Mars in Scorpio until August 4 when Mars moves back into Sagittarius. Also we experience as mentioned in earlier posts, exact Saturn Neptune squares in June, first week of July, end of August and then September. This will echo the previous Saturn Neptune square which took place from November 26 until December 4, 2015.

I’m going to end this post now and I will cover further details in future Whole Astrology posts as we go along, but expect Mutable T-Crosses and Grand Crosses in 2016 and the only outer planet changing signs in 2016 is Jupiter which moves into Libra in September. So even with all this movement happening, it still feels status quo, especially to those of you born with either Cardinal or Mutable T-Crosses.

Cancer Sun & Solar Return Moon Sign

Recently, I reached the conclusion from my own experiences with the Solar Return Moon, that the sign of the SR moon colors my personality for the Solar Return year. For instance, in 2014, my Solar Return Moon was in Leo so the themes of that year possessed a Leo flavor. I felt more creative, I noticed that I preferred to have the spotlight shown upon me (which is strange for a Cancerian) and now with the Sagittarius Solar Return Moon, I seek freedom to roam. I also feel more idealistic than usual.

My theory goes something like this. Cancer rules the moon and having the sun in Cancer or even an Ascendant in Cancer in the Natal chart gives us more access to the moon's energies. For most signs, the Solar Return moon is just another energy in the transit chart, but for the Cancer, ruled by the moon, the sign of the Solar Return Moon matters a great deal. Not only will Cancers experience the themes of that moon, but expect the personality to alter a bit or a lot depending on the sign. Though I will say that the comfort level decreases when the Solar Return Moon falls in a Fire or Air Sign unless the Cancer Sun Native has several planets in Fire or Air signs in their Natal chart. Does this make sense?

So if you have a Cancer Sun (or Ascendant), take a look at your Solar Return chart for the 2015-2016 SR year. Now, this will be different for those of you with the Cancer Ascendant and I only mention the Ascendant because it represents our self-identity. Your Solar Return chart won't take place in June and July when the Cancer Sun rules, but at whatever time your Sun Sign rules. But those of you with a Cancer Sun look back to your last birthday chart (which is the Solar Return chart) and find the moon and it's sign. Look at the house it falls in and the themes of that house, using my cheat sheet and then the sign of the Solar Return moon.

Then for the next 12 months or so, see what areas of your life have changed. How has your attitude or personality changed during that time? For Cancer Sun we are approaching 6 months into this journey. So how has your Solar Return moon shaped your life thus far? Are you wanting to travel or spend more time at home? Are you feeling more adventurous or less? Are you changing your eating habits, finding that you're picky, or wanting to break up with your partner? Your experiences will differ depending on the Zodiac Sign your Solar Moon falls for the year. Then track the Solar Moon signs for the next several years because it changes every year.

Now, I'm wondering if it works the same way with the Solar Return Mercury for Virgo and Gemini, changing their communication style from year to year (even if with Mercury you only get a choice of three signs adjacent to your Solar Return or Natal chart Sun). But for now, let's stick to Cancerians and the Solar Return Moon. I enjoy astrological experiments and if you are Cancerian please leave your observations in the comments below.

Cardinals Bearing Gifts--Full Moon in Cancer on December 25

It will be an interesting Christmas holiday for my family comprised of Cardinal Signs (Cancer, Capricorn and Aries) since the Cancer Full Moon (3 degrees) falls on December 25. Cancer rules nourishment, motherhood, and the home so some of us will feel at home on Christmas, while others might focus on the troubles affecting our home planet.

The December Full Moon chart features a wide Cardinal T-Cross (yes, the Cardinals are back for a final showdown), with Mars in Libra clashing with Uranus in Aries, and Pluto and Mercury in Capricorn. I'm not dragging the opposition between the Cancer Moon and Capricorn Sun into the cross, but some astrologers might which would bring us a Cardinal Grand Square.

Although what you find with the Cancer-Capricorn polarity has to do with mothers, fathers, family dynamics, work verses home, individual verses family, nourishment verses barren, rules, authority, intuition, practicality, home, food, lineages, and traditions. I have this polarity playing out heavily in my Saturn-Ruled Natal chart and in my family so if you require help understanding the themes of this full moon, feel free to contact me.

The Capricorn Sun and Cancer Moon experience flowing aspects with Neptune, the planet of dreams. Jupiter experiences flowing aspects with Pluto and Mercury and Saturn and Uranus bring in a Fire Trine. So this could also be a time of manifesting our dreams. However, we must ask ourselves where we'll place our focus. Many people are going to communicate doom and gloom about troubles facing the world. But where are you going to place your focus? What are your dreams worth to you? Venus at 24 degrees Scorpio sextiles Mercury in Capricorn leaving us feeling sensual and wanting to communicate from our senses. It's not selfish to focus on physical reality and to manifest your dreams. But do you feel worthy of manifesting your desires?

Young Charles Dickens, Wikipedia
I feel like duality is at play here. It's like the beginning of Charles Dickens A Tale of Two Cities except we're looking at a tale of two realities. Will we focus on peace and the nourishment we have in our lives or are we going to focus on fear and let our egos call the shots? The message I'm getting rather loudly is that we have to stop acting like the stoic John Wayne in the Wild West. And we have to stop entertaining vengeful fantasies whether that's in our personal lives or on a global scale. We are dealing with wounded individuals and collectives now which require healing. When anyone inflicts pain on another whether they can justify it or not (they all can justify it in their own minds), we inflict pain on the collective. We're not doing anyone any favors to keep practicing a rewards and punishment mentality. We've been doing that for centuries and where has it taken us? This isn't about a battle between cowboys wearing white or black hats. There are no good guys or bad guys, there is just us and our wounded egos playing out life dramas on a global stage.

However, you can bet that Mars in Libra wants justice and Uranus in Aries stirs up the embers of frustration and helplessness, but Uranus also could bolster our courage to practice nonviolent communication and stop practicing dualism. With Neptune strong in Pisces, we could finally get the spiritual message that we are ONE and that dualism is an illusion that our egos enjoy holding together. Pluto in Capricorn wears two faces. The first face is of an overbearing authority figure that uses fear to control the masses. The second face is of a magician who brings deep transformation through death and rebirth. Remember that our souls are eternal and even when souls leave the physical realm the gig isn't over. Perhaps, souls have a contract to play out "tragedies" so that we open our hearts and not close them.

Mars, Wikipedia
You can tell the evolution of a soul by how it reacts to so-called tragic events. After the Paris bombing recently, a video appeared on YouTube with a pianist playing John Lennon's "Imagine" on a piano set outdoors in Paris. He is surrounded by a crowd with people taking photographs and videotaping him. The musician appears humble as if giving a gift of love to those grieving around him. And we're also reminded of the murder of John Lennon during an autumn back in the 1980s. But John Lennon's spirit is still with us at peace vigils and on the street corner in Paris where a musician offered his talents to heal those around him. And isn't that the real gift of music to heal us? Lennon wasn't joking when he sung, "Give Peace a Chance."

We also call natural disasters tragedies because of the losses people experiences, but we gain our hearts in the process. Look at the outreach of love that occurs after a disaster. People clean out their closets and donate clothing, they give food or money to refugees or those folks displaced by events or they open their hearts through prayers and meditations. The best way to handle these situations and feel at home is to offer home within our hearts. We could join a drum circle or a prayer vigil and in these activities we gather strength and conviction that we will love our way through the changes and transformation that come upon our shores. I'm not condoning violence of any kind--whether that appears on television or in physical reality.

It's like Astrologer Barbara Goldsmith said in her YouTube video for the Gemini Full Moon for November, it's not just about France, but about all of us because we are part of one world. Whatever views we have about politics or national identities, no one deserves to lose their loved ones because some folks feel so helpless that they cause harm to others to communicate their beliefs--fundamentalist or not. And none of these events can happen if we don't allow it collectively because we're all connected. As long as we repress our shadows and project them onto scapegoats, we will experience these types of tragedies. But if we own our shadows, make peace with them, and then make peace with ourselves en mass, we heal the planet of these type of acts.

So this December lets experience an outpouring of love. Join a prayer circle, meditate, or just pull up your sleeves and get involved in the practical arena of helping those people out who are missing loved ones during the holidays or who have trouble getting their lives back on track. And let's remember the words of Saint Francis of Assisi, "It's not so much to be understood as it is to understand." When we give peace and love, it returns one hundredfold. Jupiter opposite Chiron reminds us that healing takes place when we serve others through humility. Be of humble service this holiday season and join an outpouring of love. Analysis won't get us through this transition, but love will.

Surreal & Powerful--Saturn Neptune Square Exact

As the moon travels void-of-course in Capricorn, I'm sitting here listening to Bach's Cello Suites on YouTube and contemplating the exact Saturn Neptune square occurring from November 26 to December 4, 2015. We will experience a series of exact squares with Saturn and Neptune in 2016.

This will definitely mark a surreal time where we bend reality or reality bends us into an awakening or madness depending on our current state of mind. This could even be a dangerous time, especially while traveling since people will be spaced out or possibly intoxicated. We're not just dealing with Saturn squaring Neptune exact, but the sun and Mercury in Sagittarius join up with Saturn so now we have our identity and self tied up with the square. Will we see men running around saying that they are Napoleon? Probably, something to that effect. Mental illness ramps up as well confessions of addictions.

I'm including the chart for November 26, 2015 at 4:18 Pacific Standard time when Saturn transits into an exact square with Neptune. I'm setting the chart for Seattle, Washington so the houses involved with this chart will differ from the chart set for individuals and other places. Seattle has a Libra AC in this chart which is about balance and justice.

What concerns me is all the red lines which reflect squares and oppositions mainly with the Mutable planet transits. If we gaze at the sun/Mercury/Saturn square with Neptune, we see that the Gemini Moon opposes the Sagittarius planets and squares Chiron also in Pisces. Then we pull in Jupiter in Virgo (and North Node) which square the Gemini Moon and oppose Chiron. Meanwhile, in the realm of Cardinals, Mars (and Venus) opposes Uranus already squaring Pluto in an inconjunct with the Gemini Moon. Well, it's a mess. But but a Mystical Rectangle with moon, Venus, Uranus, and sun/Mercury/Saturn bring us some stability and Mars also supplies a flowing aspect to the moon.

So we're not just contending with an exact square with Saturn in the uncomfortable sign, Sagittarius and Neptune powerful in its own sign, Pisces. On the low end, expect deceit, trickery (especially with Mercury squaring Neptune), expect foul play on a global scale, and for secrets to reveal themselves with the Uranus Pluto square. Expect food poisoning with the moon involved since we won't be reading labels or warning signs at this point. Expect violence to erupt in the world because of paranoia towards others or an us verses them attitude. Philosophies clash now and could turn into warfare, unless we get the higher message of Neptune which is building bridges based on understanding and compassion. Expect car accidents to occur because people aren't paying attention to the road or they are driving under the influence. But also expect the law to come down hard on people who don't obey it, even losing privileges through the passing of new laws (Saturn in Sagittarius).

I think we'll experience a lot of reality busting around food (what's healthy and what isn't), as well as, in the realm of spirituality, and even sustainable lifestyles. I'm not saying we shouldn't take care of our health or the planet but some companies and providers have hoodwinked us and now we will find out the truth, which will hurt in some cases. Other astrologers have reached a similar conclusion.

On the higher side of the equation, if we stay sober and mindful through meditation, solutions come to us now and we are inspired to change. It's a good time to hone spiritual lessons, take meditation or yoga classes. But don't lean on a religion as a crutch because you must forge your own connection to the divine based on your inner philosophy. When faced with conflicts (and who won't be under these transits?) look to see how you are engaged in shadows and projections. Walk in another man or woman's shoes (I hear or dog's shoes) and practice compassion. Stay humble, but not so humble that you end up beating yourself up. If you mess up, pick yourself up and start anew.

Some folks (especially those with planets in Pisces and Sagittarius), will experience grand delusions of themselves and others. Some folks will proclaim themselves prophets and others will believe them, rather foolish thing to do. If someone claims to suddenly have all the answers that came to them in a dream, run. A Saturn Neptune square is about reality testing. The more grounded we are, the better. I know many of us would rather float off to 5D, but we're going to question the validity of even that. If we don't stay grounded, we could lose a foothold in the material world and not be able to support ourselves financially.

I'm concerned about the US Thanksgiving since this is a time of overeating and over drinking. I feel that there will be many traffic accidents that day as well as, delays and complications with long-distance travel whether that is with planes or trains or buses. Stay home if you can this year because this just isn't a good time for travel. Skype your loved ones instead. Staying home for one holiday isn't going to hurt anything, except egos. If you're a meat eater make sure that you're getting your animal products from a clean source such as local and range-free because I'm seeing a food poisoning epidemic occurring during this time or at least a large-scale recall, and possibly with turkeys. I don't like to make predictions and I certainly don't like spreading fear, but please practice caution and common sense (even though this will be a challenge). It would be a good time to listen to your gut. Pray to angels or your spirit guides for clarity--something in short supply during this time.

On the other hand, since we're dealing with all the outer planets locked into squares and oppositions, this is a time of soul mastership and awakening of consciousness. Take the high road the one that comes from your inner voice that tells you that you are safe and an eternal being. Help others but don't get sucked into drama. Give others tools they need or even resources to take them to the next level. Take care of others in your communities and don't let anyone go hungry now. Contribute to a food bank or work at a soup kitchen. Donate clothing you no longer need to a charity or non-profit. The more kindness we spread now, the more peace we will experience in the world. No matter how the bigger picture looks, stay connected to the Divine and your inner voice--it's the one that feels like love and understanding.

Pisces and Sagittarius either you will master this situation or get caught up in delusional thinking or addictions. It's up to you. If you struggle with addiction get help now. Don't drag anyone through your addiction by admitting that you require help then find the appropriate professionals to get you on your healing path.  Virgo, you want to fix everyone and everything now, but no one is broken even if you can help them brainstorm solutions. Focus on solutions and not problems. And finally, Gemini, watch your tongue during this time because it's sharper than usual and you could use words as weapons because you fear you must defend yourself. Meditate if possible even going for a walk cools the jets.

Aries, I know we need changes in the world, but don't ram your ideas into others. Changes take time and it's not all about you and your ideas. However, Aries, we could use your courage and pioneering efforts at this time. Focus on what we can do now. Capricorn with Mars and Uranus chipping away at your armor, you require letting go and surrendering what you can't change. Stop playing lone wolf and join your community. This is a time of communal activity and together we're stronger. Foster the skills and talents in others then delegate tasks. Then you will receive cooperation and not have to go it alone any longer.

As the cello grows in passion through my headphones, I'm now ending this post. But I'm including a link to Leslie Hale's Astrology blog since it never hurts to hear what other astrologers are saying and she goes in depth.
