Taurus--The Belle and Beaux of the Forest

What do Fred Astaire, Audrey Hepburn, and Stevie Wonder have in common? They all share the same Taurus Sun Sign. And yes, they all worked or work in the entertainment business. We can spot a Taurus person by their big doe-eyes, slower tempo in their decisions and movement, and their ability to get each of us to ground back in our bodies.

Taurus
Ruling Planet Venus
Colors Pink, Green, and Earth Tones
Fixed
Earth
Rules the Throat (and Throat Chakra) and neck (shoulders?)

You find many Tauruses in the dance world as you also find them published in literary journals or you hear their voices gracing favorite compact disks. Taurus is a Fixed Earth Sign and similar to the other two Earth Signs (Virgo and Capricorn), Taurus people have strong bodies. If they don't work in the arts, you can find these folks making practical pottery, running businesses, or working in gardening, landscaping or on farms. They enjoy growing things. They enjoy spending time among animals and they spread beauty in the world.

Similar to Libra, a Cardinal Air Sign that shares the planet Venus with Taurus, Taurus people are charming, easy-tempered, and they enjoy engaging with other people, usually in gatherings with the finest food and drink. However, some Taurus prefer a more rustic setting like a villa in Tuscany or Provence or Quebec. Taurus is the ruler of Quebec after all. I believe Taurus rules Spain too which would explain the Spanish obsession with bulls and cheese.

Taurus Sun, Moon, and Ascendant prefer heavier foods. Sure, you can entice a Taurus person into eating a green salad once in a while but they won't leave the table until you follow that green salad with something more sustainable that includes root vegetables. Potatoes, anyone? I've met very few Taurus people with food allergies or intolerances. They relish food too much, after all, many Taurus people grow and raise their own food or have memories of families or ancestors who did.

Taurus people approach life through their senses. They have highly developed senses which they engage with long before they speak their first words. And some of these Taurus people will surprise you too. They might have begun talking later than their siblings or peers and then they develop a gift for poetry and prose, much like Shakespeare, a Taurus.

Taurus people tend to have stronger bodies and a few of them are quite thin such as Audrey Hepburn, who resembled a deer. I have also met Taurus women with incredible hair--thick and luxurious. Often, they have wavy hair and smooth skin. Remember they have Venus as their ruling planet. Venus brings beauty into the world.

In relationships, they prefer reliable partners who are as mellow as they are. They prefer people who appreciate the finer things in life, enjoy travel, and good food. They appreciate gifts that offer them a sensual experience such as silk or velvet which is soft to touch. They require gifts that engage their senses which include musical recordings, delicious traditional foods, a good wine, chocolate, artisanal cheeses, and soft natural fabrics. They also appreciate sturdy furniture and pottery that can last for generations. They're usually not into post-modern anything but this depends on other planets and signs in their Natal Charts.

The best careers for Taurus are careers that allow Taurus to move at his or her own pace. They are usually good at accumulating and managing money. If they're not the wealthiest person on the block, they're also not the poorest one. They use their resources wisely but they will indulge for beautiful things and delicious food. You'll find few vegans in this group as they lean towards an omnivore diet. And if they don't come from the world of dance or yoga, it might be a real challenge to get them to exercise. Walking is better for them than jogging. Yoga is an excellent practice for them to keep their joints flexible and to help them go with the flow.

If you have Taurus friends you can rely on them. They are loyal and they are usually on time when you meet with them. On the downside, Taurus has a reputation for stubbornness and fixed opinions. This is also true for Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius. Scorpio is their dark opposite sign or their polar opposite. Every Taurus has some Scorpio in their personality. They will project their Scorpio traits on others.

If the Taurus person had a rough childhood they benefit from therapy. Only it's near impossible to get a Taurus person into a therapist's office. Again, their stubbornness surfaces. They don't want to probe their deep subconscious mind unless they are rewarded with a thoughtful art project that brings them recognition. Even then, they will clean up the project so that it's pleasant for others to take in, as with Stevie Wonder and his upbeat songs.

If you are a Taurus person, happy birthday. This year, you experience the North Node moving into Leo (May) and Jupiter transiting into your opposite sign, Scorpio in October. Pluto remains in a fellow Earth Sign, Capricorn and gives you strength as you undergo more transformation. Neptune and Chiron in Pisces ask you to pay attention to your dreams and go with the flow. This year you can manifest anything if you can dream it first. However, do this for the highest good.

Taurus New Moon--Exalted and Relaxed

When the Taurus New Moon comes along, it's time to manifest our desires. This is the best moon for setting intentions and using visualization practices. We get in touch with our senses and the Taurus energy helps us stay grounded in our bodies.

Remember that in order to manifest dreams into concrete reality we must be grounded in our bodies. Taurus represents dense energy because it is an Earth and a Fixed sign. Yes, this energy moves at a slow tempo and it allows us to contemplate and drink in everything life has to offer.

Last year, the Taurus New Moon appeared in a troublesome moon chart. I decided not to set any intentions during the cycle between the 2016 Taurus New Moon and the Scorpio Full Moon. This year, we have a better moon chart, even though as in every chart, it brings us challenges too.  Let's look at the Cardinal T-Cross which poses some challenges. Again, we have the three players, Jupiter in Libra opposing Uranus in Aries and both squaring Pluto in Capricorn. This on-going energy carries some new themes. Mercury joins Uranus in Aries with a one degree orb and Juno joins Pluto in Capricorn. We can call this variations on the same themes we have seen play out since Jupiter moved into Libra last fall.

When Mercury joins Uranus we have a high level of mental activity and energy at play. This means our minds are racing and most likely gravitating towards social justice issues. We hear or read articles about the brain and brain science. We might learn about the effects of recreational drugs and alcohol on the brain since we're still coming out of the Pisces haze of the Solar Eclipse and the Virgo Full Moon which also featured powerful Piscean energy. We will learn how we can heal brain issues with music, cinema, photography, yoga, and meditation. Again, this is because of that Pisces energy.

If you find that you can't calm your mind down, try sound healing bowls and tuning forks. Join a drum circle. Spend time in nature. Practice yoga and yogic breathing. Dance. Sing or work with music in some way. I like to head to our local waterways and photograph ducks to satisfy and balance my Pisces energy. Now, Jupiter in Libra offers us some practices too to calm down the mind. Focus on beauty and the areas of our life that are in balance. Focus on the other, instead of self when dealing with partnerships. Have you ever noticed that when you find yourself obsessing about issues, reaching out to help others relieves you of that stress? This is one way to calm the tension presented by the T-Cross.

Another outlet would be to use the Aries energy to make changes in your community. Join other advocates for the causes that stir your passions. Get involved with physical exercise to work off steam. Be the first at something. Take bold action in some area of your life. On the Pluto in Capricorn side make transformations in your relationship with your mother and your home. Return to your childhood and reclaim your power through integration therapy.

This does not bring overnight healing but it does heal codependency. The outlet from the T-Cross is Cancer. So self-nurturing, proper nourishment, taking care of the breasts and stomach bring relief from the tension of the T-Cross. Nurturing others brings rewards too. Just make sure you aren't doing this in a way that enables others to become or act co-dependent.

Mercury and Uranus in Aries make a flowing aspect to Saturn in Sagittarius. So not only are our brains racing the Indie 500, we feel like we're making progress in areas of higher education, travel, and the higher mind. Mercury and Uranus get our brains up to speed and we're able to handle difficult material. We find that we have a high learning curve even if some of us suffer from headaches and tension in the jaw as we embark on an educational journey. College students might feel more stress than usual like they have to get it right or they might come off as know-it-alls. The other thing that could happen is that students rebel against college professors or religious figures. It will be interesting to see how this aspect plays out.

The Moon and the Sun form an out-of-sign trine with Saturn according to this moon chart. This means that our core identity is tied up in our education, philosophy, or our higher mind. We need to get out of our heads and into our bodies. Since the Sun and Moon are in Taurus we can use the Fire trines to bolster our manifestation and alchemy abilities. We don't have the Saturn-Neptune Square or Mars in Scorpio to contend with this year. And we've grown used to the Cardinal T-Cross because it has appeared in every moon chart so far this year. Fortunately, Uranus is pulling ahead of Pluto and this T-Cross will dissolve the second half of 2017.

So what can each of the Zodiac Signs expect from this year's Taurus New Moon?

Aries--For you, it's time to speak your mind. However, you need to do this with diplomacy and from a place of justice. Own your power that comes from spirit by not confusing your ego with spirit. You don't always need to come first. However, by acting as a pioneer and forging new territories through controlling your thoughts, you make a difference on the planet.

Taurus--You indulge in sensual delights. It's spring (at least in the northern hemisphere) and flowers are blooming everywhere. You want to garden or grow food. Perhaps, you indulge in writing poetry, throwing pots as in pottery, or painting. Some of you cook four-course meals for your friends and you listen to live music. Companionship and sharing the good life is in store for you.

Gemini--With Mars transiting in your sign and Saturn in Sagittarius challenging you (not to mention Neptune and Chiron in Pisces), make sure that you don't cut anyone down or off with ill-placed words. This is not the time to use provocative language unless you want to go to battle. Mars gives you lots of energy which is best used for physical pursuits. With Uranus and Mercury in flowing aspect, you feel brainy but use that brain power to make a difference in the world rather than to criticize others. Words you say now could come back to haunt you later.

Cancer--I know we (Cancerians) are tired of hearing astrologers and coaches tell us to practice self-care. However, that's exactly what the Taurus New Moon is asking us to do. First, the Moon is at its most powerful and sensual in Taurus. Cancer wants to eat too much. Indulge in too much alcohol or forget to take care of his or her body. Make sure that you are eating healthy, drinking plenty of water, and getting out in fresh air. The Taurus Moon turns you into a homebody so if you're going to stay at home learn new recipes in the kitchen or do some gardening.

Leo--You guys are expanding spiritually this year. It's as if you experience one epiphany after another so you want to get behind a microphone and share this newfound wisdom. You want to become life coaches or join a rock band. Make sure that you get in touch with your heart because it's too easy to confuse the ego with the heart, especially since Leo rules both.

Virgo--The North Node is about to leave your sign and travel into Leo (May). This gives you around a month to tie up loose ends. Are you on the right path? The Taurus Moon lends you strength and helps you heal bodily issues, especially with the throat and neck. You can use this moon for deep relaxation. Get a massage or therapy of one kind or another. And take time alone to contemplate where you want to head next. It really feels like the end of a long year-and-a-half cycle for you. But you have a clear picture of your life destiny. Discern but don't criticize. None of us are perfect and life is a journey.

Libra--You share the planet Venus in common with Taurus. And even though Taurus is a feminine Earth Sign, you share many attributes in common. You both like the finer things in life. You both appreciate art and the good company of friends. And with Jupiter still in your sign, Libra, you feel like could prosper now. So balance the scales in whatever way appeals to you. You might also need to blow off steam by getting out and exercising your body. Get out of your head and into your body. We don't manifest from our thoughts. We manifest from sensations and feelings in the physical body. Remember those words.

Scorpio--Sex feels very good during the Taurus New Moon. This moon allows you to lighten up and indulge in sensual pleasures. Try digging in the dirt or better yet, try different therapies to delve into your subconscious to bring healing to your body. You explore your DNA and lineages. You experience intense dreams with Neptune and Chiron in Pisces. And Pluto in Capricorn conjunct Juno has you transforming home or your concept of home. You could also become pregnant now if you are wanting to have children. This is a fertile New Moon for you.

Sagittarius--Saturn is still in your sign until December (around the holidays). This means that you still experience restrictions around long-distance travel, the legal system, and higher education. You lock horns with people from other religions or religious views. But with Saturn in the Galactic Center and retrograde you could also experience ascension or the beginning of an ascension process. You find that words cannot describe your otherworldly experiences. You astral project. You swim in the cosmos and this leaves you speechless.

Capricorn--Transformation is still the key word for you and will continue to be until 2024. However, Capricorn, you are growing stronger and more powerful with each passing month. You don't even mind Uranus going to battle with you or Pluto transforming you from a frighten child-adult to a powerful teacher. You love the Taurus New Moon and Saturn RX. It's time to take a break and hang out with cows in the middle of a meadow. Well, maybe in your dreams. Sit back and daydream a bit. And when you're engaging your senses, you manifest a better life--the life you dreamed of but wouldn't allow to manifest. Go for it.

Aquarius--Okay, you're feeling confused. Uranus and Mercury are causing your brain to race from one brilliant idea to the next. But the Taurus Sun and Moon slam on the brakes. You don't want to play the investors' games. You want everyone to think outside of the box like you. And they're just not up to speed with your brilliant ideas. You must be patient and use diplomacy instead of harsh words when educating others. Many of you get involved in grassroots causes or you start your own advocacy groups. Aquarius, we need you but give us a chance to catch up. If you suffer from headaches during this New Moon, you're thinking too much. Get out of your heads and into your bodies. Go for a hike or swim in a lake. I'm thinking of that jazz song with the words about jumping in a lake.

Pisces--I always like typing Pisces when I'm giving forecasts for the Zodiac Signs because I'm at the end. And I don't want to give you the short end of the stick even if my fingers are aching by this point. Pisces, I want you to get into your bodies so you can manifest your dreams. You have the fantasy part down. Your vision boards are works of art. You chant beautifully and your drumming is coming along.

But now it's time to get into your bodies and dance your desires into physical reality. You feel disappointed that you're not manifesting your soul partner or that you're not living in your dream home or driving your dream car. This is because you have dissociated from your body and you can't manifest when you are floating around in deep space. The trick really is getting grounded in your bodies. The Taurus New Moon helps you with that. Bonne chance.

Aries New Moon for March 27, 2017--New Beginnings & Breakthroughs

An Aries New Moon represents true Spring to me (unless you live in the Southern Hemisphere). It's no wonder that here in the north, we see so many baby animals and children rollicking outdoors around the time the Sun and Moon connect in Aries. But new beginnings come in many forms and on many fronts, as we'll notice with the Aries New Moon on March 27, 2017.

With this Aries New Moon, we experience tension when Jupiter at 19 degrees Libra goes to battle with Pluto at 19 degrees Capricorn. Mercury catches up and conjuncts Uranus in Aries. So we have a semi-tight Cardinal T-Cross with Pluto providing the apex and Cancer providing the outlet. This means that our new beginnings start off with a bang. And if we choose to give our power away, this could result in experiencing violence or aggression or bullying from others.

We must practice self-care while we heal any mother (or father) issues during March and going into April. Once we heal those childhood wounds, we open ourselves up to the higher vibrations of the Aries Sun and Aries Moon. When we heal those wounds we stop attracting toxic behavior from ourselves and others. We can sigh with relief now that Mars has moved into stabilizing Taurus. It's no longer in a T-Cross with Pluto, Uranus, and Jupiter. And now, we pursue our values which manifest after we heal those old emotional wounds.

Pluto represents power and it can represent the structures in our lives. Jupiter strives for creating balance and harmony in relationships and not just with intimate partners. Relationships come in many forms, as we will learn in late March. Uranus and Mercury in Aries act as firestarters charging through the gate. Watch what you say during this Aries New Moon week because cutting words have a way of haunting us later. People are already feeling hotheaded with their brains firing away. Now, is no the time to act impetuous way even if we are tempted to bring out our naughty inner children.

Children and youth act out now and challenge authority, especially parents and teachers. They don't like the way we are running the world. Some children act selfish and others act selflessly because they are concerned about their families, communities, and the world. In fact, we focus on children during this new moon and the cycle it begins.

We see horrendous acts towards children in the news and possibly in our own neighborhoods. We must get rid of this idea of either spoiling and punishment of children and see them as the Divine Beings that they are. Overprotecting children backfires as does neglectful actions. It's obviously a time for adults to heal their inner children and to stop taking it out on their children. I know this isn't so easy but there is the message from this new moon.

This particular chart shows out-of-sign squares between Saturn at 27 degrees Sagittarius and the moon, the sun, and Venus at 7 degrees Aries. I'm ignoring these red lines but I'll watch to see if we experience Saturn energy dampening our values, personal identities or emotional expression represented by the orbs and Venus.

However, Mars in Taurus lines up with Pluto in Capricorn which helps us ground ourselves in concrete reality. And Saturn trines Uranus and Mercury in Aries which can also keep us grounded as we pursue our passions. And it's better to focus on our passions than on all the strife in the world. Oh, and there will be strife as tension between the grassroots and authority figures continues. But know that this is playing out so that we can awaken and ascend in consciousness.

Welcome the Aries New Moon and new beginnings as we continue with the evolution of Mother Earth.

Sun Transits in Aries (March 20, 2017)--All Reved Up

You know when the Sun approaches Aries. You know because you see red everywhere--from red cars to the red clothing people wear. Even stop signs take on greater significance even if no one is going to stop for the proverbial red light. Aries leads off the Zodiac. And this Ram pushes his way into spring (fall if you're in the Southern Hemisphere).

Aries represents The Fool (Tarot), children, the places in our lives where we are still naive and it represents cars, sports, competition, and taking risks. Aries is a Fire Sign (the first in the Zodiac) and it is a pushy Cardinal Sign so Aries becomes the fire starter blazing his or her way into the future. Aries takes his cues from the planet Mars and chooses red as his color.

When the Sun is in Aries life intensifies. We all want to venture forth and pioneer a project or relationship. We feel chivalrous, even if we're female. And the house in your chart with Aries on the cusps is where you take bold action. This is the place where you must come first. So if you have Aries on your First House cusp then you might come off as impatient and childish. You want things now, dammit. If you have Aries on your Seventh House cusps then you must come first in partnerships and this might not bode well with your partner unless she or he is a people-pleaser.

You can pretty much spot an Aries Sun or Rising Sign person when they enter a room. They walk with their head out in front of them, as if they have horns on their head. They tend to have red hair or red highlights in their hair or their face is flushed with color. There are two types of Aries Sun people. The first is bold with a louder voice. The second seems more like a lamb until you upset them and then the beast surfaces. As mentioned earlier, Aries people enjoy taking risks. They want to venture into unexplored territory. They have to be the first. In dating with teens, this would suggest that the man would be the first one to kiss you (sometimes you have to fib a bit to please an Aries).

I knew one Aries man from college who drank like a fish, spouted out all kinds of offensive yet funny stuff and did not believe in astrology. The only thing is he could be a poster child for Aries Sun. Often the people who say they don't believe in astrology are walking astrology textbook cases. Other Aries enjoy getting astrology reading and many become astrologers or coaches. With all that Fire behind them, they motivate the more sluggish among us. And out of the 12 Zodiac Signs, Aries is the one who is most likely to-go-go-go-go. They don't have time to sit around and much like their Sagittarius brothers and sisters, they're looking for an adventure or an adrenaline rush. This could even be starting a rock band or dating someone new.

I'm not going to get into famous Aries people simply because I'm pressed for time. And I could use some of that Aries energy. I will say that Aries does best at careers where they feel like they come first. They thrive on recognition and the freedom to try new activities. They're also super passionate so give them a cause or two to lead.

On the dark side, Aries come off as aggressive and at times, violent. They are impatient with processes and they don't like coming second at anything. Ignore an Aries and he or she will disappear from your life. Sometimes they come off as rash or like they're in a rush to somewhere. However, if you ever require a first responder to rescue you, Aries is your guy or gal. Similar to the other two Fire Signs, Aries is generous and caring, especially if they have planets in Pisces. They're mellow if they have planets in Taurus, such as Mercury or Venus in Taurus. Or if an Aries Sun has Mars in Taurus or Pisces then they come off as subdued and not intense at all (until they feel inspired).

We all have Aries in our charts somewhere. Find Aries in your chart and this is where you must come first. This is the place where you must learn patience and diplomacy. For instance, I have Aries in my Third House and I am competitive with my siblings. I cut people off when they're talking (get to the point already because I'm in a hurry). And I feel impatient with local mail, short-distance communication, and short-distance travel. I was also the class clown during my K - 12 school years (Aries in the Third House of education). Did I mention that Aries people are funny?

Libra Full Moon for April 10, 2017---She has Risen!

I knew at the start of 2017 that this year would launch the Divine Feminine in a powerful way. I knew when I marched with women in January that women were going to roar. And this energy continues to build. The Libra Full Moon on April 10, 2017 brings justice to women around the globe. Again, we have that powerful T-Cross with Pluto, Uranus, and Jupiter playing out. Oh, but there's much more going on here. So much more.

When I talk about the Divine Feminine, this includes the Divine Masculine too. And it includes integration of our inner children and Higher Souls. With Saturn still in the Galactic Center squaring Chiron and Venus RX in Pisces we are healing those inner children. We are challenged to forgive the past and see the wounding in others so that we forgive and set ourselves free. And when we forgive that we cannot change (Chiron) we flood ourselves with light from the GC. We expand our consciousness with the Pisces and Sagittarius energies swirling in the cosmos. And because Venus connects with Chiron (second passing in 2017 with the first time Venus moving direct), women lead the way. Women power is not just a trend. It's very real and palatable.

So let's look at the Cardinal T-Cross. Remember that Cardinal energy is pushy and it pushes boundaries. It's the same energy that ushers in a new season. In the southern hemisphere we experience autumn and the decaying of the old way. In the northern hemisphere we experience and explore rebirth energies. Aries is strong and anyone with their sun, moon, or Ascendant in Aries or in Libra are going to push ahead. You are like those sprouts bursting through the heavy soil to experience and explore the light of the sun.

However, with the the new and full moons in April, we are moving away from a sun-centered way of being to a moon-centered one. This means that we will learn how to align with our desires through meditation and this includes world peace. Instead of going out in the world and competing we cooperate and share resources with others. This is the true nature of humans. Instead of chasing after dreams and using will power to manifest, we attract our desires in a flowing way.

This brings up this annoying ad on YouTube where this motivation coach is telling people to use will power. I can't wait to skip over that ad each time. The guy looks like he's on speed or drinks too much Red Bull so he's super hyper like a male cheerleader and unfortunately is barking up an old tree. Sorry guy but please move out of the way so the Divine Feminine can shine her light. The reason we don't feel motivated is because the old ways are ebbing and the new ways are only birthing now. You cannot push a gestation process even with all this Cardinal energy.

The moon conjuncts Jupiter in Libra and this represents women because Libra represents Venus which represents women. Jupiter is expanding on a justice theme. Then the moon and Jupiter oppose Uranus and the sun in Aries. And it even gets better since Pluto conjuncts Juno (women and the home) in Capricorn and this combination represents the apex of the T-Cross. Cancer provides the outlet since no planets are in Cancer, the final Cardinal Sign. Cancer represents the breasts which to me is part of the Heart Chakra.

The sun which equals our identity joins Uranus, the Awakener. This is nothing short of a revolution. The Occupy Movements seem so small in comparison to what is bursting forth on the planet. This energy takes my breath away and I have goose bumps on my arms. Do you have any idea how much power is in this T-Cross? And the outlet Cancer tells us that self-care and self-nurturing are the key. And of course, we must heal our inner children so that we don't cause damage to actual children. And I'm not even saying that children are innocent vulnerable creatures. They're not because the children coming on the planet now are Old Souls. They are holding a space for us to get our acts together. Oh, and they are so patient too. Well, not for much longer...

When Pluto joins Juno we have a powerful intermingling of male and female energies. This refers to married couples but we all have male and female sides. Are you balancing your inner authority with your inner mother? Think of Mother Mary or Kuan Yin who many of us turn to when we are hurting or in trouble. We do this because those are powerful nurturing energies. We do so because as human beings we know that compassion is our true set point. Our hearts act as our GPS or compass. When we connect to our inner authority in a meaningful way, we unleash powerful energy in the world that puts an end to the Age of the Martyr-Victim. Thus we enter the Aquarius Age.

Mars in Taurus trines Pluto and this also brings in female energy since Taurus is a feminine sign and rules Venus along with Libra. Mars doesn't like being in Taurus but it subdues Mars aggression. Actually, I see an image of a pacifier or a sleeping giant. Mars in this case calms down the Cardinal T-Cross. But then Pallas in Aries heats things up on the feminine side because Pallas represents both Divine Wisdom and the female warrior. And I think this has something to do with gaining equal rights and equal status not just for women but also for homosexuals.

Despite all the retrogrades occurring in April (Venus, Mercury, Saturn, Jupiter, and Pluto), I think it is still a powerful month. The Cardinal T-Cross pushes us beyond our boundaries. We reflect on history and how women have suffered and how they have risen time and time again. We search through history for our women heroes and we learn from their lessons (Pallas in Aries). We also travel back to the past to release burdens through forgiveness. We didn't know then what we know now. In April our motto is "She has risen."

Saturn Retrograde--Planetary Traffic Jam in April 2017

photo by Patricia Herlevi, Seattle 2008
Even though April is still a few weeks away, I thought I would post on Saturn Retrograde. And to give you some framework, Venus is still RX at the beginning of April. Mercury goes RX on the 9th and Pluto goes RX on April 20th. Jupiter stays in retrograde motion until June 9th. With so many planets in backward motion, April is not the month to launch anything new--a relationship or a business.

However, for the sake of this article, I'm focusing on Saturn RX. All the planets except Venus and Mars go retrograde every year. And we use the retrograde periods to refocus on our priorities. We use this timeout to reassess, reinvent, and to catch up on any energies that have gotten too far ahead of us. We also use this time to rest our bodies since planets such as Mars, Pluto, and Saturn when moving direct can take a toll on our bodies. Saturn affects our bodies because this planet rules structure, including physical bodies, diet and other routines.

I was born with Saturn, Neptune, and Venus retrograde. And what I've noticed with the Saturn RX in my birth chart is that career success has been long in coming. I'm six years shy of my second Saturn Return and by this point, most adults have found success and their careers have reached a peak. Saturn RX has affected me much like having a yod in a Natal Chart. My career which is now a synthesis of many endeavors is beginning to take shape.

And with Saturn RX in my 2nd House getting my talents out in the world has been an uphill endeavor. Someone born with a Saturn or Mars retrograde is not good at tooting their own horn. This is because ambition and confidence has turned inward. The person is self-reflective. And Saturnian people tend to suffer from black dog depression.

I'm telling you this information because Saturn will retrograde in the Galactic Center at 27 degrees Sagittarius on April 6 (a month away from when I'm writing this article). It will stay at 27 degrees stationary (not budging) for all of April. And Saturn is slow-going anyway. In May, the planet picks up speed and transits to 25 degrees (out of the Galactic Center) and then by August 25 when Saturn goes direct it is at 21 degrees. If you have any planets including Saturn between 21 and 27 degrees Sagittarius keep on eye on those planets as they will receive Saturnian energy.

That requires patience and a gaze at the longer view. Saturn makes life challenging for us now so that we gain wisdom and empowerment we can use at a later date. Pay attention. If you have any planets from 21 to 27 degrees in Gemini, Pisces, or Virgo, pay attention to that too. You'll experience squares and oppositions with Saturn in Sagittarius. You can sign up for a personal reading if you would like some help with interpreting these transits.

So what can we expect when Saturn goes retrograde for five months? We can bolster businesses that already exist. We can pay off debts. We can get our finances in order. We can make long-term plans that we set in motion after Saturn goes direct in August. Most importantly, we can start taking better care of our physical bodies. That is to get into an exercise program that strengthens bones. And it's a good time to take care of any dental problems. Since Saturn is in Sagittarius take a long-range look at higher education. Do you need to take any classes? Do research on legal actions which you'll take in the future and it might feel like a time of retribution. People try to take the moral high road.

The good news is that religious extremist take a backseat. But we could also witness economic crashes. Remember what happened in 2007 when Pluto was in the last degrees of Sagittarius? Saturn is retracing those degrees. Saturn is a hard taskmaster. This planet is karmic and if we aren't coming from a place of integrity, then Saturn's energy is punitive.

If you have any new projects or businesses to launch, do this before April or after August. If you are starting a new relationship, you'll need to practice patience between April and August when this relationship experiences a series of tests. If you make it to the end of the Saturn RX with the relationship intact, there's a good change it will take the longer road. Take care of health concerns regarding bones, muscles, skin and connective tissue. When Saturn is RX it is possible to break or fracture bones or tear ligaments. So be careful and don't push your body too hard.

Those of us born with Saturn RX don't really have a problem with this transit. We're used to the introspective energy. We actually get noticed by higher ups during this transit because we're willing to work hard and we don't do that just to get recognition. In fact, we shy away from attention because this is a Saturn placement for introverts especially if we have Saturn RX in an Earth or Water Sign. Venus RX is also introverted. And I have both planets RX! Though I've not considered myself to be an introvert even if I'm uncomfortable under the spotlight.

Use March to tie up loose ends. We have more energy in March than in April which is going to be frustrating for most of us. Having Saturn, Jupiter, Mercury and Pluto RX is maddening. At least Venus goes direct halfway through the month and Pluto waits to go retrograde on the 20th. Prepare yourself for delays. Meditate a lot. Journal. Walk in nature. Hang out in a garden or in the woods. It's going to be a slow spring. But this might actually be a good thing since the year started out like a rearing horse. It's time to return to the drawing board.

Virgo Full Moon for March 12, 2017---Momentum Keeps Building

I doubt that it's a coincidence that the Leo Lunar Eclipse was at 22 degrees, followed by the Virgo Full Moon at 22 degrees on March 12. The Universe in its wisdom is using master numbers 22 and 11 as symbols on a synchronistic path. And as this synchronicity speeds up, so does our global awakening. Can you feel it?

The other message the wise Universe sends us is a Cardinal T-Cross with Jupiter, Uranus, and Pluto. And then the Universe tosses in a Mutable T-Cross with the Virgo Moon opposing a Pisces Stellium (Sun, Neptune, Pallas, Chiron, and Mercury) and squaring Saturn in Sagittarius.

Venus is at 11 degrees Aries and Uranus is at 22 Aries. Again, we see master numbers that usher in a new age or a global awakening. Venus asks us what we value and if we will step through the doors that represent our values? (Also look for 33, 44, and 55 minutes after the degrees).

Venus in Aries asks us if freedom is worth fighting for? She values justice, harmony, diplomacy and if she does fight, she fights fair. Not only that, we see glamorous women march on the streets--not exactly their Suffragette ancestors. We also see women taking on the US President and his narcissistic tactics.

The thing is anyone who goes to YouTube or any number of blogs about dealing with narcissists can learn some tricks to protect themselves. We can also expose the narcissistic types and allow them to hit bottom so that they receive the healing they require. It's not our job to placate them or answer to their bids. We didn't come to this planet to become enslaved to wounded men and women. So use that Venus in Aries energy to liberate yourself from oppressors and people who use intimidation, control, and manipulation to get their needs met. Don't allow them to use you as an energy food source.

That said, we have the power of compassion and forgiveness to get us through some hard times. Some of us are going to escape into spiritual la-la land. But make no mistake, if we don't use discernment, we're not going to feel safe anywhere. Just because someone calls themselves spiritual does not suggest that they have it together. And if they seem spiritually smug, find out what addictions or personality disorder they are hiding from you. Many of these people use slogans and mantras to hide their ill intents. Ask them who is creating their distorted reality?

Mars moves into Taurus after having fueled the fire of Uranus in Aries. It's like all that boys-will-be-boys energy calms down. When Mars moves into Taurus we start caring about the environment. If we haven't already, we question why the big boys must play with our natural world so that they strike it rich. Oh, yes, they promise us more jobs, but at the expense of destroying major river and water supply for millions of people. What good are more jobs if you're going to die from poison in the water? If you haven't watched the movie, Erin Brockovich then better watch it soon. In fact, the sentiments of that movie are the embodiment of Venus in Aries and Mars in Taurus. (See movie trailer below).

As far as, the Mutable T-Cross in the Virgo Full Moon chart, this won't bode well for the US President, a Gemini. The spiritual communities around the world are expanding and tapping into the God Source. They are also tapping into alternative energy sources we had not discovered until now. With so much Pisces energy happening in this chart and Saturn sailing through the Galactic Center, expect alien visitation (of the space cosmonaut variety).

Expect more channeling. Expect accurate messages from those who purify their bodies for channeling purposes. Expect dietary changes. Expect detox as a buzz word. Expect yoga class enrollment to triple. Expect the average person to try their hand at meditation. Expect transcendence. The Virgo Moon is not enough to anchor us to the Earth. We're going to soar with all that Pisces energy and with Saturn in the GC. (And give up the alcohol and recreational drugs which will only keep you anchored in the Matrix).

A major healing and shift are possible. This Virgo Full Moon is ripe with potential. But we must know what we value and stick to it. Open those doors and march on through to the other side. Don't become too critical of spiritual wisdom. And at the same time, use discernment. All that glitter isn't gold and Pisces is known for deception as much as it is known for ascension. Happy Cosmic Trails, my friends.
