Shadow (Leo) of the Aquarius Age

Information drifted into my thoughts about Leo being the shadow of the Aquarius Age. And Virgo was the shadow of the Pisces Age and so on. Since I find this intriguing, I'm going to channel this blog post on Leo as the shadow or projection of the Aquarius energy. What will this mean for the Age of Aquarius?

First, let's revisit the concept of a shadow. I believe it was the psychoanalyst Carl Jung who discovered the shadow side in a human. And the concept of the shadow revolves around the hidden parts of ourselves that we suppress because we are ashamed of those parts of ourselves. These wounds which show up as shadows usually occur in our first five years of life but I believe the wounds can show up later too.

(Look for videos or stories of people who rose to fame and the fell from power. This gives you good examples of the destruction of unclaimed shadows).

Since we suppress these shadows consequences of the shadows include self-sabotage or harming others who discover those parts of us because some of us are unable to handle the shame that comes up (narcissism). Now, I'm not a psychology professional so if you would like to learn more about shadows, look for books and articles on this topic written by expert sources.

The problem with suppressing a shadow (as opposed to acknowledging and integrating the shadow) is that other people witness our shadows. So, we fool ourselves into believing we are kind people when in fact we cause harm to others through our unconscious and even conscious behaviors. I'm pretty sure that narcissists intentionally wish to harm others. But narcissists can also help us find our shadows because they trigger our fears, shame, and guilt which leads us to therapy where we resolve those stronger emotions that leads to healing our wounds.

Now, just like individuals, the collective also has shadows. We usually witness this showing up in news stories--usually one featuring violent or shameful acts. We tend to add more shame to the shadows instead of understanding the role we play in the collective. Are we integrating the shadows and healing wounds or are we stoking the flames for destruction through unhealthy behaviors such as judging, shaming, blaming, and harming others because we think they deserve the punishment. That's not the best us of Leo or Aquarius energies.

I have observed that shadows are associated with diabolic energy on the planet. Remember humans have free will to choose between good and evil. Good is represented by an unconditional loving God whereas, the other choice is to align with demonic energy which many people unfortunately, consciously do because they believe that power and wealth derives from the demonic energy. But that's not what we're exploring here. Diabolic energy can also show up in organized religions and alternative spiritual practices so use your discernment when engaging in spiritual and religious organizations and groups. Mega churches fall on the shadow side of Leo. Ditto for the concept of a fearful God or a deity that promotes fear or promotes dark futuristic thinking or condemnation of others.

What Does Leo Represent?

On the lighter side, Leo represents the Sun, creativity, generosity, the physical and the metaphysical heart, light, and anything to do with the Sun such as sunglasses, sun hats, suntan lotion, and sunlamps for example.

Leo also represents playfulness, stage drama (as in theater), working with color, children, and performing arts (combined with Pisces). Leo represents how we show up in the world as far as the way we style our hair to the clothing we wear. Leo represents our individuality along with Aries. It's a fiery Fixed Sign so there is a stubborn quality to a Leo personality. Leo also represents royalty, lion, and cats.

Watch what happens in 2023, when Venus spends several months in Leo (June 6 - October 9).

The shadow side of Leo shows up with drama kings and queens. These are people who drain us of our life force with their histrionics, door-slamming, their narcissistic behavior, or immaturity. Leo's shadow must be the center of attention or you might experience Leo going into a rage or throwing a tantrum. Similar to Aries, Leo needs to come first or they need to be the best or in the very least, they demand admiration from others. But most of us believe that respect is earned and one can't demand respect.

The shadow of Leo also shows up as cardiac arrest and heart attacks (heart disease), cold hearts, the loss of joy, grief, resentment, and selfishness (self-centered people). The shadow causes people to think that they are the centered of attention and this is where the shadow drains others. Cowards also fall in this shadow land. The shadow sides shows up with entitled people who use others or enslave others for their own personal gain.

What Does Aquarius Represent?

Aquarius energy rejects its polar opposite energy, Leo. Aquarius does focus on the individual, but how the individual serves the Greater Good. Aquarius isn't in the present moment like Leo is nor is Aquarius living in the past. Aquarius rules futuristic thinking and bucking trends. Aquarius would not be caught up in fashion, trends, or theatrics (Leo). Leo shows up as a Capitalist (Leo rules gold) and Aquarius shows up as a socialist.

Aquarius doesn't rule celebrities but when a celebrity is a healthy Aquarius, they tend to promote causes to help others. They get involved in humanitarian work or serve the greater good--think Farrah Fawcett or Eva Cassidy.

Aquarius is the humanitarian, the grassroots group, and the promoter of alternative energy. Aquarius rules energy of all types including energy medicine. This sign also represents science, metaphysics, and the new age teacher. Aquarius also rule the eccentric person or genius. It represents the mad scientist and weird science.

The Leo Shadow of the Aquarius Age

The Leo side of the Aquarius Age is represented by dark science promoted by narcissists or egotistical scientists. It's about putting money ahead of humanitarianism or humanitarian groups misusing money. It shows up as fake humanitarian groups that tug on the heartstrings. It's about manipulative science or manipulative new age gurus. It also shows up with the misuse of artificial intelligence or the overselling of electrical vehicles by convincing others that these vehicles don't pollute (when they actually do add to pollution on the Earth).

The shadow side of the Aquarius Age shows up with dark geniuses who use their intelligence to terrorize others. It also shows up as group think that is led by a diabolic leader who promotes divisiveness, cruelty, and shaming behavior. The shadow side shows up as selfishness or inauthentic personalities or personalities that take eccentricity to unhealthy levels. It's also the radical who leads people to drink juice laced with cyanide as they bow to a false god. Watch out for false teachers who hides their selfishness and greed or use charisma to persuade groups of people to cause great harm (think Charles Manson).

The Leo shadows is obsessed with gold, wealth, and abundance. It uses new age and fundamentalist religions to promote greed by calling it holy or deserved. The shadow side sabotages intentional communities and grassroots groups by introducing rebellion within or with the quest for "gold". The Leo shadow also surfaces around royalty including celebrities and political families or dynasties.

The Leo shadows also shows up with heart attacks or strokes; any medical condition revolving around the heart, brain (Aquarius), or circulatory system. It also shows up as people to repress self-expression and self-development because this causes insecurity with people who claim they are the true rulers.

Final Words

I could write a longer article but I only wanted to plant seeds to get you thinking about the polarities of Aquarius and Leo. If you are a Leo or Aquarius person, please don't take this message as an insult your personality. This article focuses on the Aquarius Age and the pitfalls caused by the Leo shadows.
