Aquarius Sun--Here Comes the Revolution

How did I miss the arrival of the Aquarius Sun? The Sun moved out of Capricorn and into Aquarius on January 19. And this is important, not just cause millions of women around the world marched for justice on the day after the Sun arrived in Aquarius but because this is an Aquarius year in many ways.

Uranus is still in Aries so there is still a lot of warrior coming out in each of us. Revolutions are eminent all around the globe and the collective continues to awaken. While some people will say that the collective isn't waking up fast enough, look back ten or twenty years and notice all the changes that have happened during the past two decades. We are waking up and from many events that resemble The Tower in the Tarot deck. That card is represented by Aquarius and Uranus as is The Star (hope).

This year Uranus moves into Taurus and a lot of shaking, rattling, and rumbling will take place on the earth. But we will also see revolutionary movements with agriculture and earth stewardship. There will be an increase in membership to grassroots groups and environmental groups, starting around late April and May so get going on your spring campaigns.

Also, in May, Mars moves into Aquarius where it stays for several months with a retrograde happening midway. That will bring a youthquake and more millennials, especially women, transgender, lesbians, and gays seeking leadership roles. We will see unions and cooperatives forming. Yes, socialism is the buzzword and that isn't going to go away anytime soon.

So, who is Aquarius, the Water Bearer? Out of the 12 Zodiac Signs, Aquarius (Saturn and Uranus), is the zaniest and most futuristic. Although Aquarius is a Fixed Sign and has some stubbornness associated with it, Aquarius, ruled by Uranus brings a sudden change in the way that lightning striking the earth might. Aquarius rules sudden insights that come to us out of the blue. Epiphanies are Aquarius domain. Unexpected events also fall under the gaze of the Water Bearer.

And as I mentioned earlier in this post, Aquarius rules socialism, revolutions, grassroots groups, the collective, hippies (along with Sagittarius), unusual gatherings, alternative people, anything shocking that we do, electricity, the nervous system (including the brain), sound healing, astrology, science, high tech (along with Virgo and Gemini), coops, unions, and marches for justice. I would imagine that environmentalism falls under Aquarius too as is the LBGT communities.

Aquarius people are less interested in your status, your large house, or your personal assets than they are interested in whether or not you can hold your own intellectually and that you have a humanitarian heart. They tend to gravitate towards deep-thinkers and people who live outside of the box--think speakers on Ted Talks.

In fact, I believe that Ted Talks and YouTube are Aquarius inventions whether or not they were produced by Aquarius people. Aquarius Sun, Moon, and Rising Sign people are innovative and if they have Sagittarius figuring prominently in their chart, they take huge leaps of faith into the unknown. Think of the Star Trek characters (first two series) or think James Dean in Rebel without a Cause. Or think of Geena Davis in Thelma and Louise.

Famous Aquarius people include Eva Cassidy, Lisa Hannigan, Francois Truffaut, Amadeus Mozart, Geena Davis, Angela Davis, Roddy Frame (Aztec Camera), Abraham Lincoln, Ronald Reagan (I don't get this one), Ellen DeGeneres, Michael Jordan, and your wacky best friend. Aquarius people tend to collect friends, but they are an Air Sign so they aren't the most affectionate or loyal of friends. However, they will give you a chance to prove yourself and they are tolerant up until a point. If you cross that line, then there is little hope you can renew your friendship with an Aquarius person, especially if they have a Scorpio Rising or Scorpio Moon.

Aquarius you are one of the Signs highlighted in 2018 along with Leo, Taurus, Scorpio, and Capricorn. Your classic ruler Saturn transited into Capricorn which falls in your 12th House of the hidden realm. Uranus (your modern planet ruler) transits into Taurus this year, another Fixed Sign and the ruler of your natural 4th House of home and mother. And finally, Mars transits in Aquarius for half of 2018 which gives you a warrior spirit and tons of energy. And the eclipses (except for a Solar Eclipse in Cancer) fall in Aquarius and Leo this year. So what changes will you bring to Gaia this revolutionary 2018?

So, are we ready for exciting changes to come to us out of the blue? Welcome to Aquarius.
