Aquarius Solar Eclipse on February 15, 2018--Change of Heart
And so this funny Valentine (Aquarius) shows us a more detached approach to love, romance, and shacking up (as opposed to marriage). This marks a time when people indulge in kinky sex or we see perversion stories in the news headlines. I think mostly, we will be talking a lot about same-sex marriage, unusual partnering, and reconsidering gender roles as they apply to partnerships. People will focus more than ever on partners from other religions, cultures, ethnic groups, or belief systems--anything to shake up the traditional family structure. We also look at different housing situations such as families sharing the same house, intentional housing communities, and mobile communities.
We will also look at celibate relationships and even revisit ancient communities where celibacy was celebrated and expected. This is because of Mars, the planet of sex and passion is in Sagittarius and wed to Vesta (Vestal Virgins). We consider the male drive and the ego, versus the heart and service. In a strange way, Aquarius (opposite of Leo) also rules the heart, but through the circulatory system. I'm reminded of Gnostics and the Cathari people.
Meanwhile, Venus transited into Pisces and forms a wide conjunction with Neptune so we're a bit dreamy. We're living in a fantasy world of ideas which is in direct conflict with alternative partnerships. It's a mixed bag, but relationships, no matter how we sum them up are on our minds. I am picking up information about sudden encounters (Aquarius and the Solar Eclipse). Twin souls coming together because they've done the work and are ready for the next adventure. It's hard to tell where dreams end and reality begins. What is the reality?Now, Jupiter in Scorpio (sex, death, rebirth, soul mates, psychology) is squaring the Moon, Mercury, and the Sun so it is expanding upon how we humans relate on a deep level. Meanwhile, Saturn is gathering speed in Capricorn and brings the karmic wheel into the picture. The message I am getting is that if we don't release old karma through forgiveness and releasing old patterns, we could repeat those patterns and not move forward on the wheel. Actually, we don't want to be on the karmic wheel at all so if we forgive and release, we can jump off the wheel which has spun and spun for thousands of years and thousands of lifetimes. Aren't you ready to ascend? (I struggle with forgiveness too).
Jupiter also forms a trine with Chiron who is finishing up its journey in Pisces. Again, how do we expect to experience harmonious relationships with our soul twins if we haven't cleared away old baggage? It's like trying to squeeze a new wardrobe into an over-cluttered closet or stuffing food in the fridge while pushing the moldy stuff to the back. It can be done, but then we have to pay the piper. It's better to do the hard work so that we can have cause for real celebration.
As a sign, Aquarius represents zany people, ideas, concept, and situations. Most of us don't even feel comfortable in Aquarius territory unless we have prominent planets in Air or Fire signs and even then. Aquarius wants us to show up authentically as we serve the greater collective. It wants us to join grassroots and support humanitarians. And I feel that we will find humanitarians and scientists and computer geeks sexy at this time. But what is the attraction really, except us mirroring or projecting our own inner geek?
I don't see this Solar Eclipse as a major transit but it could be a fun time. It could be a time of quickening souls of reunions of the cosmic kind. It could be a time when we are considering aliens and on the planet. And it is a time when someone who never would have gotten a tattoo finds himself in a tattoo parlor. It's a time of expressing ourselves creatively but not to everyone's liking. Remember the polar opposite of Aquarius is the showman Leo. But at the same time, we want to detach from the drama unless we are a movie critic sitting and facing the center stage. Be careful not to break a leg.
Signs most affected by this eclipse are Aquarius, Scorpio, Leo, and Taurus. And Taurus, you'll get an idea of what Uranus in your sign will look like in the months ahead. And Aquarius, you're seeing a preview from the upcoming Mars transit in your sign. It will be a fascinating time for all.
Aries: The word revolution comes up for Aries. First, Uranus is finishing its tour of duty in Aries in 2018 so it's time to finish up old and new business. Then your planet Mars moves into Aquarius from May to November. And that is a reflection of Uranus in Aries. So, this Aquarius Solar eclipse has you itching for a change. And you want to go big with this change. You'll be joining Aquarius and Sagittarius in leading a revolution. But look before you leap or take a leap of faith. It's up to you, my fool for love.
Taurus: This is not a time for sticking with the tried and true. This is a time to question traditions and to look under every rock for clues. Life is really opening up and expanding for you if you don't stick to rigid agendas and take a leap of faith. Revolutionary changes are in the wind and they are shaking the earth. As the earth shakes and shifts, it's time to align once again with the Green Man and give your regards to Gaia. Honor Mother Earth and she will protect you.
Gemini: This is not the time to talk out both sides of your mouth. It is a time to communicate spirit whether that message comes from the trees or from bullfrogs. Spend more time outdoors and become acquainted with the north and westerly winds. Know that the skies the limit. Some of you start channeling and teaching at this time. What you thought was never possible becomes instant reality.
Cancer: I see a watery slope. No, I see a huge waterfall hugging the cliff's edge and tumbling into a tranquil pool. Dive into this deep water and explore your emotions. Don't hold back but do keep your emotions in balance. Sudden changes catch you off guard. This is not the time to cling to fear or go to places that feel too familiar. Venture into the unknown. God and the angels walk beside you.
Leo: It's time to stop talking about authenticity and explore your true identity. You are made up of more than your ego and your physical body. When you stare in the mirror who do you see gazing back at you? Find the god in yourself and this is where you find your personal revolution. Be like Robert Redford, a Leo and pursue the causes dearest to your heart. Some of you will aim to protect the environment and lead animal protection causes. After all, you are lions. Let me hear you roar.
Virgo: You remind me of Florence Nightingale. You have plenty of people to save and many causes to serve. The work never seems to get done so you just keep going. Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn and Jupiter in Scorpio give you strength and confidence. You love work and you love feeling like you have helped someone. And at this time, you help many and much more you will never know.
Libra: Get out of your mind and into your heart. It's time to assert yourself in matters of the heart and I'm not talking about romance, at least not the greeting card type of romance. I'm talking about Rumi's romance with the Divine and all that lives behind the veil. Now, when you look for that kind of beauty and you see your wineglass as full, you reap rewards.
Scorpio: It's already quite the year for you with Jupiter traveling in your sign, Uranus preparing to enter Taurus in May, and Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn, not to mention Chiron and Neptune in Pisces. Revolution for you means ascending above all the anguish and grief you've ever encountered and this can happen in a heartbeat if you practice forgiveness. Remember forgiveness is about letting you off the hook. God will take care of everyone else' karma. Saturn in Capricorn dishes out instant karma for the next three years. Your job is to rise from the ashes and to clean up your side of the street.
Sagittarius: Your challenge is to admit you don't know everything, especially after you convinced your followers that you're their guru. God holds the keys and there are many avenues that lead to God, yours is not the only way. Once you humble yourself at God's feet, miracles transpire and you begin to see the beauty and grace in everyone you meet. You recognize that teachers come in both wise men and wise fools. The world is more complicated than you imagined.
Capricorn: Everyone is expecting you to lead the way now. Oh, reluctant Capricorn, first you have to take full responsibility for your own house (your soul). And like another sign or two, you must first clean your side of the street. This allows you to show more vulnerability and you discover your humble side. Think of the great communicators of your sign, such as MLK. If you have a cause to lead, it's time to begin your ascent. The mountain is high and treacherous but if you take one step at a time, you will make it to the top and enjoy the view. Only, it's not what you currently imagine. Two years from now, you will look back as a completely different person.
Aquarius: What is it about you that takes me down the road to the wild and woolly 1960s? Sure, that's old news now. Yet, you return to some of those old ideas such as permaculture and cooperative living and give it all a new millennial spin. Everything you thought was possible brings breakthroughs now. We hail you as a genius and you get us to think outside of boxes. Miracles abound.
Pisces: Your values are in a flux. Materialism calls to you on one hand, and God and Gaia call to you dragging you in a new direction. You leave the corporate world behind or perhaps, if you were cloistered, you long for the freedom of the open spaces. Pisces, you are one of the signs that are happy living in a hut in the middle of nowhere or roaming the world in a camper van with your favorite dog or cat. Freedom calls to you once again, but this time, take us along for the ride.
