Preview of Planetary-Shifting Transits of 2024

2024 is a watershed year as far as planetary transits and the shifts that will result. The year promises to be one of those monumental or historical times when we'll look back and say that 2024 changed everything. And what I mean by that is 2024 is the beginning of the end. It's the year when old structure finally collapse through whatever means and we will rebuild every aspect of life on planet Earth.

If this sounds like hyperbole to you, after all, I'm writing this article during Sagittarius Season (when Neptune is squaring the Galactic Center and the Sagittarius Sun is finishing its transit through the GC), so I understand any skepticism you might be experiencing. However, 2024 was mysterious to me and I wasn't even able to find a planetary guide (calendar) to purchase locally. I ordered it online. 

 

Pluto in Aquarius and Uranus in Taurus

Let's start with Pluto changing signs after spending 16 years in Capricorn. But not only that, Pluto will dip into the culmination degree of Capricorn for nearly 3 months during the fall of 2024 as part of a retrograde. (Watch my Astrologer Patricia video on YouTube on this topic).

Since Pluto is moving from a solid Earth Sign to an Air Sign, Aquarius and the planet for Aquarius, which is Uranus is moving quickly through Taurus (another Earth Sign) we can expect major earth changes. These come in the form of islands sinking into the ocean and new land masses rising out of ocean due to volcanic activity (happening over decades and centuries). In 2024, this comes in the form of major earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, super storms, and more of that strange weather which causes flooding in areas that normally don't experience floods.

This awakens humanity suddenly (Aquarius and Uranus) because when we are in the survival mode, our material goods and ambitious pursuits are meaningless. And rescuing others in our families and communities become our priority. This is when we bring out those quirky ideas others scoffed at such as building intentional communities made up of tiny homes and even yurts. Houses on wheels make more sense if we need to relocate out of a disaster area. And we won't be able to rely on agencies such as FEMA to rescue us.

We will be growing more of our own food in greenhouses and geometric structures. While this sounded far out or freaky decades ago, it's going to make survival sense in 2024 and beyond. Remember Aquarius represents solutions that are outside of the box. And Aquarius represents cooperation and sharing in the collective.

So, what are the transits to watch?

January 21 Pluto transiting to 0 degrees Aquarius

January 27 Uranus stationary direct at 19 degrees Taurus

Jupiter also forms a wide square with Pluto around January 21

February 6, Mercury transits into Aquarius conjunct Pluto

February 14 Mars moves into Aquarius and conjuncts Pluto

February 17 Venus moves into Aquarius and conjuncts Pluto (triple conjunction)

February 22 Pluto transits to 1 degree Aquarius (this is a new degree)

(Aquarius Season will bring us many changes and shifts). Both Uranus and Pluto crash the financial markets and both bring earth changes).

In March, Mars stays in Aquarius until the 23. Venus stays in Aquarius until March 12. Meanwhile, Pluto is speeding up at is almost at 2 degrees Aquarius. Uranus moves one degree from 19 to 20 degrees Taurus. 

Jupiter in Taurus picks up speed and aligning with Uranus where it will form an exact conjunction on April 17-22. Expect major earth changes from that Jupiter-Uranus alignment. And this is occurring roughly 11 days after the Solar Eclipse in Aries on April 8. 

Taurus Season in May will be interesting since Jupiter and Uranus are in Taurus. But Jupiter transits into Gemini on May 6 after its dance with Uranus in Taurus. Venus, the Sun and Mercury also transit in Taurus. And I've not even viewed the New Moon in Taurus and Full Moon in Scorpio yet.

On May 2 (my late grandmother's birthday), Pluto retrogrades at 2 degrees Aquarius. Remember that retrogrades and stationary planets, especially in the early or late degrees of a sign bring significant world events. I'm not sure what they will be at this time.

Pluto continues its retrograde in Aquarius until September 3 when Pluto backs into 29 degrees Capricorn. On October 12, Pluto goes direct at 29 degrees Capricorn and then transits back into 0 degrees Aquarius on November 20th, again a huge deal with major events occurring on the planet. Byt the last two days of 2024, Pluto is back at 1 degree Aquarius and it won't return to Capricorn again for another 240+ years!

Meanwhile, Uranus is in a sextile with Neptune (not uncommon) and in the 1960s, we had Neptune in a Water Sign, Scorpio in a sextile with Uranus in Virgo (please read my 1960s series for details). Neptune dissolves what it touches and Uranus destroys structure and situations like a lighting bolt. I'm not sure how this sextile will play out but surreal events come to mind. 

Uranus starts its retrograde on September 1 at 27 degrees Taurus, which is a culmination degree and forms an inconjunct with the Galactic Center. The planet will remain retrograde until January 2025.

Solar Eclipse on April 8, 2024 (19 degrees and 24 minutes Aries)

The previous Solar Eclipse in Aries on April 19, 2023 left me with a broken ankle and eventually living in between homes. And the Solar Eclipse on April 8 is a rare total eclipse in Aries that will rock the planet. It is also said to echo the Leo Solar Eclipse from the summer of 2017, if you remember that big event. Both solar eclipses occur in Fire Signs. Combined these two eclipse form a cross in the US in Texas. The Solar Eclipse on April 8 will also be prominently viewed in the Midwestern US, mainly western Pennsylvania (Erie). Buffalo, New York and Cleveland, Ohio. Any region under the path of this eclipse will be impacted by major changes.

And what kind of changes can we expect with an eclipse in Aries?

Aries can bring energies that erupt in wars or violence in its lower octaves. But it can also bring cures for mental illness, innovations, and new beginnings in its higher octaves. It provides events and situations involving the head and face (teeth). We highlight firefighters, police, soldiers, knives, guns, bravery, and pioneering ideas. There is either a focus on selfishness or a move away from it (depending on the types of earth events occurring at the time of the eclipse).

What we do know is there needs to be endings for new beginnings to occur. In combination with Uranus and Pluto transits, eclipses help to destroy old structures and systems so we can try new solutions. It's time to put on our thinking caps and also to get in touch with our hearts (but that part will be more challenging).

Jupiter changing Signs

Jupiter began wobbly transits when it spent half a year in Aquarius and then in Pisces. Then part of a year in Pisces and part of a year in Aries. Instead of Jupiter staying in a single sign for a year, we are seeing Jupiter transiting into a new sign halfway through a year. It is no exception in 2024 when Jupiter transits into Gemini on May 26 so it leaves the Fixed Sign Taurus and moves into the Mutable Air Sign, Gemini. Life's about to speed up. The focus moves away from earth changes and financial markets to the media and communication. Our focus is now on travel and neighborhoods. 

Jupiter and Pluto are now in Air Signs which can feel more mental and detached, especially during Gemini and Libra Season. We will try to use logic instead of heart wisdom to get ourselves out of tight situations. But at the same time, we can detach from drama and come up with solid solutions to problems that daunt us as long as we don't have to follow a group of talking heads babbling on about the earth's problems ad nauseam.

 

Neptune in a Culmination Degree

The final transit we will explore is Neptune reaching 29 degrees Pisces. (Please read my article on Neptune transits in Pisces).

Neptune is going to speed through most of 2024 until it reaches 29 degrees Pisces on May 3-4 and it will be four minutes shy of 0 degrees Aries on July 2 when it retrogrades. Neptune will continue its retrograde until it reaches 27 degrees and 8 minutes on December 6 -7. These are all culmination degrees and just like Pluto had its showdown in 29 degrees Capricorn in 2023 and part of 2024, Neptune is going to preview its final act in Pisces.

However, Neptune won't fully be in Aries until 2026 with it's final act happening in Pisces in 2025.

Neptune also sextiles both Pluto and Uranus for part of 2024. When these three planets form a Golden Triangle (just like they have done in previous decades), we can expect unusual world events even rare events. These transits bring us historic moments of major changes and shifts in consciousness. Remember that Neptune is also squaring the Galactic Center when it is at 26 to 28 degrees of Pisces. 

Neptune can either cause confusion and fog leading to mental instability or it brings spiritual transcendence, especially by those who have spiritual practices. It will inspire more people to become spiritual or rejoin a religion. But it can equally cause cult-like behavior and mass psychosis. But with the square to the Galactic Center it more than likely has us questioning organized religion and becoming more interested in outer space and beings from other galaxies. There is a fantasy side of all this if it doesn't cause outright delusional thinking such as what you would witness in the play, Waiting for Godot.

There is a danger of people waiting around for someone or something to rescue them. Do you remember the Peanuts cartoon where Linus waits in the pumpkin patch for the Great Pumpkin to arrive and then he ends up disappointed? Blind faith can lead us astray with the Neptune transits.

Conclusion

I could probably go on all day about the transits for 2024 but I'm stopping here. I can't emphasize what a game-changer 2024 transits are. It's going to be another watershed year like 2008, 2012, and 2020, but even bigger than those years. This is the year that we'll say that was the beginning of the end. And that ending is for events that took thousands of years to manifest.
