5 Things a Cancerian Won't Tell You About Themselves

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Since I'm a Cancer Sun and I know other people who are Cancer Sun or Cancer Moon, I felt inspired to write a post about the more secret side of Cancer. But not only that, I'm going to decipher the Cancer Code for you so that you're not left in confusion with your friendships with Cancerian people.

 

1) Cancer Sun (and Cancer Moon, especially, because they are essentially a double-Cancer), often hide their  true feelings behind a hardened exterior. The reason we do this is we learned early in life that showing one's vulnerability meant that others would hurt or bully us. So, we pretended to be the tough kid on the playground or the sarcastic and hurtful teen to cover up our own hurts. This is because we didn't want anyone to see us as a crybaby or as a wimp.

The truth about Cancer men and women is that we feel everything. We are hypersensitive and it takes years, if not decades to own that part of ourselves. Once we stop mind-reading what others think or feel about us,we realize that it's safe to put our guard down and remove the armor of the shell so that we can express our deeper side with you.

 

2) Cancer men and women become crabby because they are sentimental and sensitive. They want others to show affection on them by giving them holiday and birthday cards or sending them thoughtful letters (which we hold on for decades until we no longer like you and then we burn or tear up the letters and cards). We are crabby because you forgot our birthday or you cancel a special dinner because you have work to do instead or something came up.

We might lack emotional intelligence despite being born under the Water Element that rules emotions. We avoid conflict and this forces us to sulk, pout, but not tell you what we're upset about because we fear conflict. Why? Because the last times we were faced with conflicts, it tore us to pieces and it took days, months, or years to regain our confidence.

 3) Cancer men and women might harbor strong feelings towards a person, but they cleverly hide those emotions for fear of being hurt. They would like to open up but don't want to be betrayed because that hurts too deeply. So, you might never know a Cancerian's true feelings for you. And if they act cold and indifferent, you have little choice but to walk away and find affection elsewhere.

The other part of this is Cancer women, especially open up slowly with people. They test the water in romance and friendship. And it boils down to they don't want to be hurt because it takes too much energy to recover from hurt. They also enjoy their independence and hanging out in the crab shell going over photographs, letters, and anything that triggers memories of a time that was enjoyable for them.

 4) Cancer men and women need a nudge to come out of the shell or life passes them by and they regret it later. Sometimes they just need a good kick in the butt to get them motivated to let the past go and to enjoy this moment.

5) Most Cancer men and women, despite being considered the nurturing side of the Zodiac Wheel, don't know how to nourish or nurture themselves. Don't assume that we have it all together in that area because we might be struggling with self-care, especially if we are recovering from a rough childhood, a divorce, or other situation we consider a failure.

You might be a logical Air Sign and yet, you'll be the one teaching Cancer to nourish and nurture themself.
