Deep Healing of the Mind-Body-Spirit During Virgo Season

Virgo Season which includes all the personal planet's transits through Virgo, not just the Sun, the Virgo New Moon and the Pisces Full Moon has brought deep healing and soul-cleansing to every being on the planet and the Earth
.

Mercury transited in Virgo from August 12 to the 31st. Venus transited in Virgo from July 23 until August 17th. Mars transited in Virgo from July 30 until September 15 while the Sun transited in Virgo from August 22 until September 23rd. Yes, we experienced overlap with Leo Season and Virgo Season. It' not unusual for the seasons to overlap. However, the Virgo and Pisces polarity has played a crucial role in our lives this summer. Add the Gemini North Node and the Sagittarius South Node and we deal with energies of change and mutability. We are in the process in becoming new versions of ourselves.

As we mutate from the beta version of ourselves to the emerging New Earth version we can become overly critical of ourselves. We try to apply logic to situations where we just need to trust and go with the flow. But how do we trust and surrender when paranoia lurks around every corner? How do we relax and de-stress when conspiracies whisper in our ears unwanted and unwelcomed? How do we know up from down in this weird wonderland and tricked mirrors? The distortions are everywhere and yet, Virgo does give us the gift of discernment and Pisces gifts us with heightened intuition.

People born in the 1960s and the 1980s when Virgo and Sagittarius (respectively) played key roles in shaping us (as well as Gemini and Pisces), feel the personal planets transiting in Virgo as triggers to old wounds, outworn beliefs we have about ourselves, and our fix-it compulsions. We experience more obsessive and compulsive behaviors, more anxiety, more depression, and more tension in the body during Virgo Season.

I remind you that I'm not a psychological or mental health professional so if you find that you are dealing with the above scenarios please use your gift of discernment and get help from a qualified professional.

Mars in Virgo brings up childhood issues that require resolving. This is our Inner Child shouting at us or acting out for attention. Current events around the world such as mandates, lockdowns, and even feelings of persecution trigger us now. A lockdown feels like childhood restriction. Wearing a face mask (even if for health reasons) causes our inner children to feel punished and censored. It doesn't even have to be rational but it's how the Inner Child views the situation based on his or her own experiences with punishment, shame, and learning how to fit into polite society. Anyone who dealt with childhood abuse is likely to rebel and resist any enforcements or mandates at this time. (And let's not even get into the morphogenetic field of child sacrifices from previous eras).

Mars just went into Libra as I type this article but the Mars transit in Virgo still resonates as does the Venus transit in Virgo even though this planet is now in Scorpio probing the depths of our subconscious mind and even look at issues around power, control, and sexuality (including women's rights to their bodies). Mercury is also transiting in Libra and will retrograde in Libra at the end of September until the middle of October. This is about fairness, justice, and equality. It's also about balance, harmony, peace, and spiritual detachment as in the study and practice of Buddhism or mysticism where spirituality takes on its mental role.

The Sun in Virgo marks Virgo Season because it speaks of our core and the ways we present ourselves in the world. The Sun determines who and what ends up in the spotlight and where the world dramas play out. The Sun also represents our life force. Some people will say that Mars rules the Solar Plexus but I think it is the Sun that does. The Sun can also rule the Heart Chakra because the Heart is associated with Leo. But some healers and spiritual teachers tell us that the Heart is of the Air Element which rules out the Sun and Leo.

This Virgo Season the themes have surfaced around the frightened Inner Child. And everyone's Inner Child feels frightened right now no matter how much bravado is attached to it. No one is "fine" right now and life isn't "fine" right now. And looking on the positive side is not going to address the proverbial elephant standing on the coffee table and blocking the view of the outside world. It's wrong to tell someone to chill out and to stop worrying (even though worrying is bad for our health) when we do have huge challenges staring us in the face.

Instead of telling someone not to worry (including telling ourselves) let us find ways to address the insurmountable problems we face as individuals, as communities, as nations, and as a world. The behaviors of persecution, blaming, shaming, and judging our neighbors or people on the news stems from the wounded Inner Child. None of us wants to be gagged, quarantined in a home, shamed by the public, or told what to do. Often a child knows what is right or wrong for themselves. Yet, the parents don't listen because they are the authority and the child must submit. This often ends up as physical and emotional abuse. And yet, there is no shame in asking for psychological support.

Those of us to who suffered from emotional, psychological, or physical abuse as children are getting a double whammy right now. As we recover from our childhood wounds more wounds are inflicted upon us by the ways governments and corporations handle current situations by blaming the victims for not complying to authoritative practices and procedures. And the advice I give everyone is to be kind and stop shaming others and playing the role of flying monkeys.

Mental Health and Virgo Season

It's not an accident that young athletes bring up the topic of mental health. We tend to ignore mental health concerns and look for quick fixes or isolate ourselves because of shame we experience.

But mental health issues show up in all areas of life and for all people especially during darker times. Virgo reminds us to clean out the closets of our subconscious minds. But it also reminds us to clean out our real closets and to give away or recycle the stuff that no longer serves us. This includes resolving old patterns, beliefs, and even ancestral beliefs and traumas. There modalities such as EFT and Ancestral DNA Clearing to help with this process.

On the physical level, Virgo asks us to clean up our daily routines and rituals. Are we eating enough fruits and vegetables, are we exercising, and are we getting enough sleep. Are we staying hydrated? And as far as the mental processes, are we healing our cognitive distortions and releasing irrational beliefs? Spiritually are we we on point with our practice? Are we walking our talk? Are we living our lives in spiritual integrity? Are we showing up for life and owning our mistakes? Do we remember the power of words? Virgo rules communication along with Gemini.

Virgo Season for 2021 ends in a week, but I feel like we made progress even if it doesn't feel like we have. That's just Virgo being overly critical. The focus needs to be on us as individuals. What we do in our personal lives ripples out to the world stage. In fact, we cannot address outer circumstances until we face the inner ones. As each of us faces our imperfections and accepts that we are humans with flaws and that's okay, we make more space in the world for tolerance and peace.

Now, Libra Season this year will not be an easy journey. It too is fraught with lessons and challenges. Libra represents balance but Libra is also in the process of creating balance. Let's not cover up our anger with smiles and pretend that we are in perfect balance during a time of upheaval. Instead, find ways to clear the mind such as with meditation and journaling.

While I am not a psychological expert or professional I hope that my astrological gaze at Virgo Season is helpful for you.
