Venus Retrograde in Capricorn--Values Changing around Finances, Money, and the Economy

 

We are living in exciting times with the current transformative astrology transits. In November, we experienced the Taurus Lunar Eclipse and Neptune going direct. Then in December, we experience the Sagittarius Solar Eclipse on December 4. And then, Venus goes retrograde in Capricorn on the 19th and she's in a conversation with Pluto.

And Pluto is edging towards the Pluto Return for the US (27 degrees Capricorn) in February of 2022. And then Venus joins Pluto towards the end of February. On March 2, Venus is on an exact conjunction with Pluto and this is ripe with potential for the US to transform its values around economics, politics, and human rights (remember one of Venus' rulers is Libra).

Then Venus transits into Aquarius on March 7. She joins up with Saturn, the structure-builder on March 25 and this is another date to circle on the planet. Other astrologers such as Pam Gregory have said that the US Pluto Return affects the entire planet. And last time, Pluto was at 27 degrees Capricorn was in 1776 when the US wrote its constitution and the Bill of Rights. Recently, we have lost our rights as American citizens, watching them stripped before our eyes. But can Venus and Pluto turn that around? Or will we come up with a new constitution and Bill of Rights? 

I believe that when Venus conjuncts Pluto this is a stripping away and dismantling process for our values including personal possessions and beliefs. And then when Venus connects with Saturn in Aquarius, we recognize our new values and might even give away possessions to make room for mental pursuits (Aquarius). This transit reminds me of people who sell most of their possessions (or give them away), sell their home, and either move into a tiny house or travel and live the van lifestyle for a while.

Another aspect of the Venus transit in Capricorn is going back to school to learn a new skill or profession that is more lucrative and aligned with personal values. Pluto has brought the transformation wrecking ball to every industry and this leaves some people without employment. However, during the unemployment phase, it's time to rebuild ourselves and our identities, even from scratch. And this could lead to learning online or in person.

Venus aligns with Uranus in Taurus at the end of January 2022 (a one degree orb) when she turns direct at 11 degrees Capricorn so we have an Earth Trine. This is a time of higher learning via an online platform and maybe even classes that have to do with the physical body or business and finances because these are ruled by Capricorn. We could also see studies in urban farming and permaculture because of the association with the Earth via Venus and Taurus.

And if it's not about higher learning then it is about learning new lifestyles that are off-grid such as putting solar panels on the roof of a home or living in a unique way that is less about material wealth and more about freedom and authenticity. All and all, Venus brings in a breath of fresh air even as she appears in the Earth Sign Capricorn.

However, on the health side, don't overwork, stay hydrated and nourished with healthy whole foods. Make sure you get enough exercise and take time to play. Venus loves the pleasures of life and is most happy indulging her senses. When Venus moves into Aquarius she will reveal the lives of unusual and iconic women.
