Astrological Quadrants & Synergy

On this rainy Sunday I would rather lie in bed with a book rather than write about astrology. It's not that I'm not still passionate about the Zodiac Wheel or the astrological movements in the sky. It's just that I feel exhausted from January 2021's transits and I would like to rest...

However, today, an intriguing topic popped into my stream of consciousness. And that topic is the quadrants in the Zodiac and how the signs in each quadrant work in unison with each other to create a bigger picture than a single Zodiac Sign.

Here is a brief breakdown of the quadrants which each contain three Zodiac Signs representing the three qualities (Cardinal, Fixed, and Mutable). The question as to why Sagittarius Sun people are attracted to Capricorn people or Gemini to Taurus people is starting to make sense. They are in the same quadrant and work together to create synergy.

Aries-Taurus-Gemini (Cardinal/Fixed/Mutable)

The first quadrant contains no water element. It is a mix of fire, earth and air and so those are the elements that this group mainly works with. You'll also notice that this quadrant associates with spring in the northern hemisphere and fall in the southern hemisphere.

The energies I pick up are action and communication. Yes, I know Taurus isn't the most active or communicative sign. However, Taurus represents the Throat Chakra and our personal values. So, with this quadrant we must align our personal values with our actions, thoughts, and words. It's only when we fall out of alignment that we encounter problems with the face, head, throat, shoulders, lungs, hands, and arms (areas of the body that these signs correspond with).

This quadrant also relates to the mental processes since Aries rules the brain and Gemini rules the neurological system associated with the brain. We could find mental and emotional imbalances in this quadrant, especially with Mercury in Aries or in Gemini. There is an impulsiveness and nervous energy here that the Taurus Earth Element can relax and bring relief.

For people with many planets in this quadrant, I recommend regular energy healing work and definitely massage. Meditate and practice yoga. These folks are also attracted to Buddhism and detaching from the mind. Calming the monkey mind is key as is speaking with clarity instead of chattering or gossiping. Imagine that every word you speak robs you of precious breath = to your life force. The longer you remain silent, the longer your life span. Use your words wisely and sparingly. You also speak things into being so be extra careful and learn about the power of words. You are after all, the Magician and the Alchemist in the Zodiac.

Cancer-Leo--Virgo

This quadrant contains the Water, Fire, and Earth Elements. It is missing the Air Element. This is the most passionate of the quadrants working mainly on the emotional and sensing realms. Yes, Virgo brings in Mercury's energy which revolves around communication. However, Mercury in the Earth Element is more about healing the body and mind than it is about communicating ideas. Since Leo rules the heart, Virgo the nervous system and the small intestine and Cancer rules the breasts and the stomach, I see this about digesting ideas.

This quadrant reminds us to use discernment. At its worse, we fall into the trap of over criticalness, worry, fear, doubt, and suspicion with this quadrant. People with dominant planets in this trilogy, need to work on trust issues and also hone in on their intuition as well as, listen to and tune into their hearts. When we are not in alignment with these energies, we suffer heart, circulatory, breast, stomach, and digestion problems. We could also suffer from anxiety and depression.

To get into alignment set strong boundaries and then get into a flow of giving and receiving. Find a way to be of service to your community or the planet. And always check in with your heart. Practicing service and generosity without burning yourself out is key. Use the world stage to serve and make the world a better place where everyone shines. This quadrant also focuses on home, the daily environment, and the world stage. There are no bit players here and yet, remain humble even if you're the star in the production. Remember Saint Francis' words, "It is in giving that we receive."

Libra--Scorpio--Sagittarius

Here we have Air, Water, and Fire so staying grounded and practical presents problems. The Scorpio energy sees everything in black and white which is balanced by Sagittarius fiery expansive energy which excludes no one. Libra brings in the balance of social justice and equality. So, people with dominant planets in this quadrant are interested in the justice system, attorneys, adventure, and fighting the good fight. I wouldn't be surprised if political leaders have many planets in this quadrant and right now, the US President and Vice President have their Natal Suns in this quadrant.

Scorpio balances out Libra and Sagittarius' lack of discernment. This is why a Sagittarius person can argue that they are discerning. But Scorpio also brings up shadows that throws the other two signs, mostly known as Polly Anna energies, off balance. Scorpio digs into the deep recesses of our mind and the cesspools presented by humanity. However, Scorpio can also bring deep healing and help us rise from the ashes like the proverbial phoenix. Scorpio brings in intuition and spiritual wisdom while Libra strikes a balance and Sagittarius seeks expansion and taking us to far out places.

However, the Earth Element is missing here. And none of these three signs is practical or grounded, Scorpio comes the closest since two of its five creatures (scorpions and snakes) crawl across the earth. This is where we feel inspired, fearless, and are poised for forward movement. I see the Eight of Wands energy with this quadrant. These people are can-do and have a sense of humor as they work their way towards peaceful solutions for the planet. They also strive for fairness and equality.

Capricorn--Aquarius--Pisces

Like it or not, this is the dominant quadrant at this time. We know the energies of Capricorn since we had several planets and eclipses in this sign in 2019 and 2020. We know what it's like to muck through the Earth, deal with poverty consciousness, and dreg up hope for the future. Now, we're moving into Aquarius and of course, there's the Aquarius Age lasting 2,500 years, give or take.

The Fire Element is missing with this quadrant so it's easy for people with dominant planets (including me) in this quadrant to fall into depression or suffer from delusions. This is the area where we see the most addictions, imprisonment, epidemics, hospitalizations, and cult experiences. And hasn't the world recently seen its share of all the above? While Aquarius livens things up a bit by focusing on the future, Pisces and Capricorn lead us on the road of depression and anxiety. The dark side of Aquarius too points at neurological conditions as well as, circulatory problems. In fact, if you find that you have inflammation in your body or nerve problems, find an energy healer that understands the planetary energies for relief of your symptoms.

And it could just be that the message here is to either become more grounded and take care of practicalities or to embark more deeply on a spiritual path to ease suffering of yours and of others. The person who comes to mind with this quadrant is the late Reverend Martin Luther King Jr. who embodied all three of these signs. This is where we find the activists, the legal advocates, the animal rescuers, the servants of God, the mystics, Earth Angels, Star Beings, light workers, etc... This is where we find Rumi and the master musicians throughout history.
