Moon conjunct Saturn--No Escaping Reality

First, I'll mention that I was born with the Moon Conjunct Saturn in Pisces falling in my Second Natal House. And if that wasn't enough of a challenge, the Moon and Saturn challenged Mars in a square and Uranus conjunct Pluto (Virgo) in an opposition. One manifestation of this alignment has been mental depression and feeling helpless with authority. Since it involved my Second Natal House it also had to deal with a lack of self-worth thanks to an abusive parent.

But what does a Moon conjunct Saturn transit suggests? Well, this is a transit that occurs once a month since the Moon transits through each Zodiac Sign every 28 to 30 days. The Moon represents our emotions and our feminine side. Saturn rules structure, authority figures, our bodies, discipline, maturity, aging, reality checks (which can lead to depression), responsibility, career, the father, and our public image. When these two energies come together they reveal to us where we are out of alignment with our feminine and masculine sides. We also see where we are in alignment or out of alignment with healthy expression of our emotions.

I'm writing this post a day prior to the Moon transiting into Aquarius when it will connect with Saturn in a one degree Conjunction. While this transit happens quickly, for people born with Moon-Saturn conjunction in their Natal Chart, this could resonate as depression or a sense of uncertainty about the future (Aquarius). Since the world is reeling from a pandemic and we're all uncertain about the future, it is time to get in touch with our emotions and find healthy ways to express them. It's time to write in a journal, talk to a therapist or a supportive friend and or join a support group. At least, Saturn is temporarily in Aquarius and this does help us to plan for the future and become more proactive.

However, on July 3, Saturn transits back into Capricorn where it will remain until December 16 when it moves into Aquarius for the next three years. When the Moon and Saturn are together in Capricorn it is easy to get swallowed by depression or lethargy. And the way out is through finding something constructive to do such as writing a book, planning a business, or restructuring a daily routine. It's a good time to plan financially for the future even if the world around is crumbling. The Moon is reflective but it reflects ourselves back to us through others. If we find that others are overly disciplined then we might not have enough discipline in our lives.

Healthwise, this conjunction brings up problems with the stomach, breasts, lower back, skin, and other connective tissue, but not always. Saturn works us hard and we don't take time for self-care so then we end up feeling cranky while sniping at others. The Saturnian energy lends itself well to building the body or at least exercising it and we know that could provide a cathartic outlet. The Moon energy lends itself well to soaking in a tub, reading a novel, eating healthy, or having a good cry (Cancerians especially benefit from the sobbing sessions).

And having said all that, the Saturn energy is too heavy for many of the signs. It's so easy to forget doing the hard work or to give up completely. Saturn is always reminding us of the grim reality. It is the soberest Zodiac sign which reminds me of a stern father who never smiles. And yet, Saturn people have a wicked sense of humor and they are more likely to smirk than to smile. They are like Mona Lisa in the famous painting, having some wisdom tucked away in their brain that they aren't going to share with the unwashed masses. And there's the joke for them.

The Moon conjunct Saturn is not a major transit and nothing as powerful as Saturn conjunct Pluto in Capricorn or Jupiter conjunct Saturn. It's almost not mentioning as a transit. It's another story when it is an aspect of a birth chart. I know this from experience. Saturn brings too much gravity and heaviness to the fragile Moon. We usually think of the Moon as an outlet for dreams and intuition. Much like Neptune and Pisces, the Moon and Cancer desire to get lost on Moonbeams and gossamer wings. Saturn will have none of that. Saturn piles on the emotions to the Moon and refuses to deal with them--not having the time for it and with a business-as-usual approach. Saturn has no time for self-reflection and shies away from it anyway. Who wants emotions to clog up the business-oriented mind?

Moon-Saturn people usually have had challenging childhoods, dealing with abusive or irresponsible parents. They often play the role of the adult to dysfunctional parents or they dealt with the death of a parent at a young age. Saturn and Capricorn energy brings hardship and gives the person the ability at a young age to overcome challenges and take on the responsibilities of the world. Couple that with the Moon and its suppressed emotions. The child often tells themselves when they're upset to pick themselves up by their own bootstraps. However, any child having to play the role of the adult is completely unfair and leads to years, if not decades, of therapy, that is if the child chooses to even take time to self-explore.

Why am I writing about this minor transit at this time? Saturn rules isolation and containment--something we are all familiar with at this time. The Moon represents our emotions and the ways we express or repress those emotions. And I predict that with every passing Moon conjunct Saturn, more people are going to seek therapy to deal with feelings that emerge from isolation. People were meant to connect with others and when we can't do that it's a devasting blow. It's not business-as-usual and our emotions can't be easily swept under a rug without some kind of implosion occurring (Aquarius).

I am not a psychologist and this is not psychological advice. But if you find that you are not dealing with emotions or suppressing them through various coping mechanisms, please seek the help of a professional mental health counselor or even an energy healer (Aquarius). Even though we feel isolated we are all part of global consciousness. When each of us heals, we heal the world.
