Climb Every Mountain--Capricorn Sun

Image
Wikipedia Someone with a Capricorn Ascendant seems fated to write about the Capricorn Sun which ushers in the Winter Solstice (Northern Hemisphere). Capricorn is one of the signs that has garnered a bad rap, mainly because Capricorn Sun natives are seen as too sober, too ambitious, and too realistic. They're the ones most likely to tell a Pisces or Sagittarius person to lift themselves up by their own bootstrap.  With Capricorn, and the ruling planet Saturn, we hear the myth of the self-made man or woman. In the French movie, The Green Ray by Eric Rohmer, we meet the character Delphine, a Capricorn who suffers from a broken heart and faces the challenge of taking a solo vacation or as the French say it, holiday. A colleague reads her horoscope which says something about the character thinking that she has to go it alone. Capricorn shows up as the rugged individual, the executive who climbed his or her way to the top and not without collateral damage. But Capricorn is also t

Astrological Memoir--Chiron Return Brings Me to My Knees

Image
Wikipedia If I thought I would not survive the Pluto in Capricorn transit to my nodes, Ascendant and Sun/Mercury, the super asteroid Chiron has taken me deeper into my subconscious--places where I never hoped to revisit... There are wise ones who believe that we came here to this planet or this physical realm to live out our worst fears so that we would transmute them. I wonder some times. I have endured one outer planet transit after another since around the age of 18 or 19. The planets have relentlessly visited my Mutable T-Cross, or gone to battle with natal Neptune, Jupiter, Sun/Mercury or Ascendant. While I feared the Pluto and Uranus transit, felt nervous about Neptune visiting my Mutable T-Cross, not to mention old Saturn in Sagittarius, I wasn't expecting Chiron, not even a planet, to hit me this hard. While it sounds like I'm complaining, I'm actually amazed at the powerful healing that is taking place in my life at this time. My Chiron Return ends February

Winter Solstice Chart--Hail Mother Earth!

Image
I didn't have plans to write about the Solstice transits, but then I experienced a nibble about the possibility of a Grand Earth Trine so I'm unveiling this incredible chart here. I love when I can share flowing energy with you since most of what I've shared since launching Whole Astrology, has been a bit crunchy. The first thing I want to bring you attention to is the Grand Earth Trine with the Sun at 0 degrees Capricorn (plus Mercury and Pluto in Capricorn) ushering in the Solstice, the Taurus Moon, and Jupiter in Virgo. Now the degrees are wide between the planets but having a Grand Earth Trine on the Solstice is auspicious. We feel grounded and prosperous going into the next cycle which lasts until either the Solstice in June or the Solstice for next December, however you wish to read it. The next thing I draw your attention to is a Mystical Rectangle between Jupiter/North Node in Virgo, the Taurus Moon, Chiron in Pisces and Venus in Scorpio. Now you have Eart

One Last Uranus-Pluto Play for Cardinals--January 2016 Forecast

Image
Wikipedia Uranus The good news is that none of the Cardinal Signs beyond 15 degrees in their respective signs will experience an exact Uranus-Pluto square or the bombastic Cardinal eclipses from past years. However, January seems like a crunchy month for Cardinal Signs and here's why. Mercury turns retrograde one degree Aquarius on January 5 and returns to Capricorn where it continues its backward transit until it reaches 15 degrees on January 25. So this especially brings a time-out experience for Capricorn, Cancer, Aries and Libra. Meanwhile, the Capricorn planet, Saturn pulls up into a wide square with Chiron which has many of us questioning our religious and spiritual beliefs or feeling like we lack the education to move forward in life. However, Pluto in Capricorn forms a sextile with Chiron throughout the month offering us an opportunity for rebirth and new growth. And Jupiter retrogrades in Virgo trining with Pluto for most of the month. This tells me that transforma

Hold Your Horses--When the Sun Transits in Sagittarius

Image
Oh, Sagittarius, I almost forgot to write a post for you. Could it be that Saturn in your sign limited my sight of the satyr or could it be that everything is exaggerated when the sun transits in your sign? And yet, Sagittarius faces challenges these days with Neptune, Chiron, North Node and Jupiter (your ruling planet) squaring and opposing you. What's up with that? But first, let's take a look at the sign of Sagittarius and individuals with this sign. I once had a Sagittarius boyfriend who saw me as an exotic foreigner. The relationship worked well when he was corresponding a few states away from me. However, after we moved in together the whole situation unraveled. Linda Goodman once wrote about relationships between Cancer and Sagittarius in her book, Love Signs (which some of you will remember because it was a popular book back in its day), and she didn't predict long-term partnerships for this odd coupling. Really, who would think of putting horses and crabs toge

Whole Astrology Gift Guide by Zodiac Sign

Image
St. Nick, Wikipedia Do you have an Aries wife or Cancer child and you don't know what to give them for the holidays? Are you confused about the right food choices for each Zodiac Sign? Well, I'll do my best to provide you with a gift-giving list with each sign in mind. Aries --Even adult Aries have a strong inner child and a sense of adventure. When it comes to Fire Signs, you might want to head over to your nearest REI or outdoor gear outfitter. Reds and warm colors work best for these folks, especially if they have red hair. As far as music, Aries prefers music that is robust and fiery. For instance if they enjoy classical music, then go with the Romantic composers. They also enjoy super spicy foods such as Thai and Mexican food. If you have a gourmet on your hands (it's possible since man chefs have Aries Sun), then supply them with spices and peppers in a gift basket. Don't forget to add a state-of-the-art knife. For Aries children, gift them with adventure

Inner Planets as Personal Assistants

Image
Wikipedia Solar System Have you ever thought of using the personal planets to assist you with mundane experiences? Normally, I focus on the outer planets and the transformation these planets launch in our lives and across the planet. As we follow the phases and signs of the moon to determine best times for activities, the sun, Mercury, Venus, and Mars also act as our personal assistants. MOON Let's begin with the moon since many day planners follow the sign and course of the moon as it transits through the Zodiac every 28 days. For instance, today with the Libra Moon, I had my hair cut. Libra represents beauty, fashion, and charm so I couldn't think of a better day to get my hair cut. Not only that, the moon is in the waning phase as it makes its way to the Sagittarius moon. Speaking of the Sagittarius Moon, people want to party during this moon, drink too much, eat too much, gamble, or take risks that they regret later. On the other hand, the Sagitta
